Yo so this joint is SUPER vibey. It's like if you took a Santa Cruz tee shirt and turned it into a mexican bar. You know the artwork on a bottle of espolon? You get the same vibe from this place. Very hip, very happening. Very tequila. There are a variety of classic margs on their menu, starring your choice of blanco or reposado tequila (anything else, in MY opinion, is not worth drinking). If they know one thing here, it is, appropriately, a margarita. The service is very mexican, which is to say... I'm not sure, but it's something. When you come here (and I say when, not if, because you absolutely should), you'll understand what I mean. The chimi-changa is lightly toasted and heavily delicious. The drinks menu is as long as the food menu, which if you ask me, is how it should be. The liquid that goes in my mouth is AS important if not more so, than the solids. On this note - the sound of an all-steel shaker is truly intoxicating. A symphony of ice-cubes blissfully shaking their little bodies to create a good time in a glass. I do wonder if the barman ever tires of mixing lime, tequila, and triple sec. Other drinks are available but let's not lie to each other, when you come to miss margarita, you're getting a margarita... Or 2 ;)

This Mexican restaurant in Byron Bay is an absolute gem and truly the place to be! From the moment you step in, you're greeted with fantastic food and exceptional service. The food here is top-notch. Each dish bursts with authentic Mexican flavors and is prepared with care and attention to detail. Whether you're craving classic tacos, flavorful enchiladas, or fresh ceviche, this restaurant delivers delicious and satisfying meals. The service is also excellent. The staff are friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They create a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the overall dining experience. The restaurant itself has a great vibe, making it a popular spot in Byron Bay. The ambiance is lively yet relaxed, perfect for enjoying a meal with friends or family. If you visit, don't miss out on trying their signature dishes and house-made margaritas. The drinks menu offers a variety of options to complement your meal and elevate your dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend this Mexican restaurant for anyone visiting Byron Bay. Whether you're a local or a tourist, this place offers a memorable dining experience with fantastic food, great service, and a vibrant atmosphere. It's definitely worth a visit!

We loved the outdoor setting of Miss Margaritas, and they are dog friendly. They are directly opposite the hotel and we could hear this music which was really enjoyable. They offered a happy hour between 4-6pm and had non alcoholic cocktails. We had a ginger mocktail and, of course, a dirty Margarita. For starters, we had fresh guacamole, a small tub with homemade cornchips dish. For main, we were offered only 2 vegan dishes, the Burrito bowl or nachos without any vegan cheese, something we never understand when vegan cheese is so readily available. Why some of these restaurants, both Mexican or Pizzas, don't bother with vegan cheeses is beyond comprehension. Instead, they remove the essential ingredient that really makes the dishes. Most people who have milk allergies, vegan or mammalian food sensitivities (every growing population thanks to tick bites and lyme disease) would happily pay extra for the option of vegan cheese. This place was very busy, buzzing close to Apex Park, where we strolled later to watch the sunset and listen to live music. Come on, guys, there's no excuse for not offering cheese alternatives. Hence, the lower score. We did have the mushroom and zucchini burrito bowl. it's presented well, but no vegan cheese was a bit bland. Even your fast food competitors offer vegan options with vegan cheese.

Best Mexican food I’ve had in Australia after living here for a year. There are some negative aspects though, including that The margarita was a bit flat and lacks a strong tequila finish, no salt on table for chips, guac was good although not terribly notable, chips good, salsa good, they charge for more chips which is always a negative for places that give you more salsa than chips, portions sizes were surprisingly large including the vegan option which was excellent. several cilantro stems were present, Potential lack of a attention to detail there. What’s up with rocket in tacos? The chipotle chicken taco was excellent. The Burrito was great, loads of meat although the tortilla is crispy, not sure what that’s about. The enchiladas were unexpectedly good, that’s something I generally don’t see at Mexican restaurants in Australia. On the negative side, the wait was an hour and there’s not a lot of seating. On the plus side, the ambience is great, the staff was very friendly, attentive and didn’t mess anything up. Extra water was brought and we didn’t even ask for it, the restrooms are impeccably clean. If I could give a more accurate rating, I’d say 4.5 stars, but this place is definitely a great place to go.

This place can get very busy and it is walk in only, we managed to get a table at around 9 pm on Christmas eve and I think that staff was just tired after a busy busy day because service wasn't the best. My friend has a condition where she can't eat spicy food and was trying to get some clarification from our servers on ingredients and spiciness of some dishes and one could see that they very inexperienced and not trained to be able to handle allergy requests. In the end they just told her to get the salad “to be safe”. I ordered the mushrooms fajitas and I had to leave half of it because of how much oil there was, and the tortillas were the smallest ones I have ever seen being served in a restaurant. My friend’s salad was very bland, and the burrito & enchilada our other friends got were also just fine. All in all, the experience was pretty average, price was adequate so nothing to say on that – I just urge the managers to train better you staff on allergies.

Usually has about 20 minute wait time before getting in and I must say I had high expectations coming in because it was so highly regarded and I have had fair share of Mexican food in Canada as well as in US. In the picture you will see the nacho plate which was 23 dollars but it was a tiny portion with hardly any effort put into the plate. It was a very disappointing start. I had the beef burrito and I payed 2 more dollars to get the deep fried. I must say I have had way better tacos with way cheaper prices. I have also tried the fish tacos that my friends had only to find that it was quite soggy and was not a good fish taco at all. Overall very disappointing, it tells me that this place is over hyped and I would highly discourage going here. Save your money for something else to eat here. There are plenty places like legend pizza and bay kabob that is worth more money than here. Would not go again.
