Let's say this, we came here on our honeymoon and we were blown away. We had the seafood Messe/(platter) I'm a well mannered man, and at one point I was tempted to lick the plate, it was THAT good. The chef came out and greeted us and the staff were all attentive, and warm and made us feel very special. You guys have pulled off a dream, well done! We will be back before we leave Byron! For anyone looking for INCREIDBLE food that will go into your top 10 after you taste it, do yourself a favour and try this place. The seafood was PERFECTLY cooked, everything was just perfect. Very rare to find these days! Do note, it can be tricky to find as its between two other restaurants. Also, if you like cocktails, they were amazing at them too!

Of our 4 evenings in Byron Bay, we ate here for 2 of them - we were blown away by the quality and taste of their seafood; definitely one of the best seafood I've ever had in Australia! It was mind-blowing how soft and creamy their octopus and calamari is, as well as their barramundi and scallops. Such fresh seafood! I also highly recommend their dolmades as a side. In addition to the wonderful food, my partner and I felt such nostalgia as it was like we were back holidaying in a coastal European town, eating on the streets with such delicious Mediterranean dishes. To top everything, service was wonderful from the lovely waiters and the owner himself.

Paid $97.00 for the seafood platter for 2 people. We picked it up and walked 2 minutes to the beach to eat it. The seafood was lukewarm to cold. At that price point, this was completely unacceptable. Everything was dumped in the container in a haphazard fashion. The Greek salad was a tiny portion. I asked before I ordered whether I should order a seperate Greek salad but was told no it is huge and will be enough for you. The only plus was that the staff were lovely. I wish I could have returned the seafood and got my money back. Even at $40 this would have been a very average serving. Avoid this place.

We’re from a small, seafood-loving coastal town in Victoria, and we first visited Cypress Tree 15 years ago when I got engaged to my now-husband. We were only in Byron for three nights, and we had our first meal at Cypress Tree. The food was so incredible that we ended up dining there all three nights! On the last night, the chef even invited me into the kitchen to show me how he prepared my meal, and I took notes. This family-run, owner-operated business made us feel like we had been transported straight to Greece.

Just recently, my dad brought over some prawns, and I found the old recipe I had written down all those years ago. While trying to decipher my notes, I decided to call Cypress Tree to ask a question, not expecting much. To my surprise, the same chef who had been there all those years ago FaceTimed me and walked me through cooking the dish while I was in my own kitchen.

Cypress Tree is more than just a place with fantastic food—it embodies the spirit of a small family business that has worked tirelessly to build a name founded on love and dedication. Every visit offers an experience that stays with you long after you leave. Although we don’t get to Byron Bay often with our young family, we always recommend this restaurant to friends and family visiting, and they always come back thanking us for the suggestion. You won’t regret a visit—it’s an...

I'll start with the food. I ordered a goat dish and some dip as well as Dolmades, the goat was perfectly cooked with a clean taste and soft texture, the rice capsicum, tomatoes etc throughout the dish was all done perfectly I found it was balanced and consistent it was not oily and from top to bottom the ingredients fresh, yellow capsicum was used which shows the effort the chef has gone to. The dish was hot from the kitchen on arrival and expedited within 16 minutes of me sitting down and ordering.

Now as for the service, I was pleased to find the wait staff to be hospitable and professional without badgering or trying to up-sell both staff on attendance were neatly presented and motivated, I am very impressed so much so that I was sure to leave a tip. I looked into the kitchen and it was clean and orderly running like a well oiled machine the Aromatics of the fresh ingredients and herbs caries out through the kitchen into the restaurant, the lighting was warm and atmosphere is typical of Byron bay.

Conclusion: Big portions of high quality ingredients freshly prepared and cooked to order it's what Cypriot food is about. This place will give you that to a tee. Congratulations on a well...

Really enjoyed my dining experience at Cyprus tree !

The menu is comprised of of traditional , authentic Greek food and was freshly cooked within a timely manner .

We ordered a Moreton bay bugs and a mixed platter which included skewered meats , sausages , dips , dolmades , rice , Greek salad , seafood , zucchini and halloumi frittatas and stuffed tomatoes .

I then ordered a plate of dolmades and out of the two vegan options on the menu ; I ordered the roasted capsicum with Mediterranean rice and Greek Salad .

The dish was absolutely delicious !

The waitresses and the man who served us ; presumably the owner ; were welcoming and very hospitable ; ensuring we had a lovely experience and attended any of our requests with optimum professionalism.

The quality of the food ; paired with the great customer service and Lemon drop martinis really made for an enjoyable night .
