So excited about this place I feel like we planned part of the trip around this place. So popular with all the tourists and I’m sure locals.
We arrived for lunch with appetite to match.
Be sure to have a table number before ordering. We ordered between 2 of us - Medium whole lobster with garlic butter. Abalone. 1/2 dozen fresh oysters Pint of stone and wood.
Similar to most other businesses up the coast. They employ a large number of foreign tourists/backpackers to help run the business. Has good and bad points. I ordered natural oysters and somehow paid for and confirmed kilpatrik. This was quickly rectified after a short wait.
I found it very hard to find out what oysters were being offered. 4 x people later it was clarified pacific oysters. I suppose this is a lobster shack and no one really cares as much about these guys. The oysters weren’t nice and I’m happy we only ordered 1/2 dozen. Kilpatrik may have been the better option.
The abalone were amazing. These have to be cooked right or can be terribly chewie. So nice and so full of flavour. Got top marks on this.
The lobster. Though we ordered a full lobster, only half turned up at the table. This was rectified and the balance soon arrived. The garlic butter was a match made in heaven and we both agreed this was one of the best lobsters we have ever eaten. So fresh and perfectly cooked.
Cool fish tank inside and a nice bar. Washed the above down with a stone and wood pacific ale pint. !! 👌
NOTE to foreigners. Take your leftovers from the table. The seagulls will otherwise do this for Troy which isn’t a pleasant experience for others after you have left.
A quick pass of the gift shop admiring the frozen cooked and uncooked lobsters on offer. So tempting though we don’t have the means to store on our journey.
We managed to get in and out and avoid the tour buses that are generally seated in the front part of the facility leaving the more public and scenic water front available.
You can do a tour of the factory but we decided against it. There wasn’t space anyway given 3 x tour buses...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at a restaurant in Cervantes, located just a few hours away from Perth, and I must say, it was well worth the journey. The food here is simply indescribable, and I found myself buying more than I needed just to embark on a culinary adventure that left me feeling delightfully full. The freshness of the seafood was top-notch, with no hint of any fishy flavor that one might expect from seafood that has been sitting around for a while.
The highlight of the meal was definitely the lobster. From ocean to table, the lobster was incredibly fresh and bursting with flavor. And let's not forget about the view! The picturesque surroundings provided a beautiful backdrop while I savored every bite.
Despite visiting during peak hours, the kitchen staff's expertise shone through as our food was served in a mere 10 minutes after placing our orders. The quick service was highly appreciated, allowing us to fully enjoy our dining experience without any unnecessary waiting. I would also highly recommend trying the prawn in a bucket, a true culinary delight.
I cannot speak highly enough of this restaurant. The combination of the freshest and tastiest lobster, quick and friendly service, an extensive selection of beer and cider, and the option to enjoy the stunning surroundings make it an experience that I highly recommend to anyone seeking an unforgettable dining...
Read moreThe restaurant is located next to the lobster factory and is highly recommended by many netizens, providing visitors with the opportunity to see the factory in action firsthand. Arriving on a holiday, we found the place was crowded with ppl and accompanied by a flock of seagulls, they stare greedily at our food like predators staring at their prey.
However, the dining experience exceeded all expectations. The lobster, undoubtedly the star of the show, boasted delicious flavors, while the fried dishes maintained a perfect balance—crispy without excessive greasiness. Moreover, the seafood, sourced fresh, added another dimension to the feast. Particularly noteworthy was the Chowder—rich in flavor and possessing a distinct taste that set it apart from anything I've ever experienced. Equally surprising was the pickled seafood; contrary to my prior belief that all pickled food tasted the same, theirs offered a delightful Thai-inspired blend of sweetness and sourness, providing a refreshing respite from the day's fatigue.
The two-hour drive to reach the restaurant was unequivocally worth it. In hindsight, the journey to Jurien Bay wasn't just about savoring exquisite cuisine ; It’s about immersing yourself in a culinary adventure that exceeds expectations and leaves an indelible mark...
