Took a nice leisurely drive up to Cervantes on Sunday 13 October 2024. Instead of the usual lunch at Lobster Shack, we decided to try somewhere new and picked Sea Breeze Cafe. We're kicking ourselves a bit because this place is such a gem that was right under our noses but for years we've only gone to Lobster Shack. We ordered the large seafood platter ($125 as at 13 Oct 2024) and a couple of sugar free cokes. Service was very friendly and the feed that came out was perfectly cooked and I have to say the crayfish (while size wise wasn't huge), was absolutely beautiful. Firm flesh, and the flavour of the sea was there. I dare say it's better than Lobster Shack. The fish bits were incredibly tasty, firm fish, excellent batter (sticks to the fish and doesn't fall off). The battered scallops were similar, so sweet and battered fried to perfection. The chips were also an absolute star. Crispy and golden AND flavour. I don't know what's with these chips but they are a lot more flavoursome than a lot of the chips I've had from fish n chip shops. It's like they have a coating on them, not disimilar to the coating you get on wedges sometimes. I think we could've probably demolished a platter or two of chips by itself. The squid rings were tasty, and so were the battered prawns. Crabsticks were OK - can't really expect too much from crabsticks. The owner/cook was most generous with the home made tartare sauce. He offered an entire squeeze bottle to us to go with the platter. Great sauce and a perfect accompaniment for the platter. We dined in and there were quite a number of large tables and seating. There's also an outside bench and table should you wish to have your meal outside. Overall, we were most satisfied with the meal the service and location. This place is now on our list of places to eat in Cervantes. Great food, value for money, convenience and good ol' fashioned friendly service. What a gem!

Amazing Local Dining Experience! 1. Wishing the grandfather (owner) good health! 2. The food is absolutely delicious. 3. Honest owner and friendly service – I’d give 6 stars out of 5 if I could! 4. My son genuinely said the owner was so kind. 5. Highly, highly recommended. 6. Truly felt the spirit of Australia through this meal. We loved the local dishes. My son ate with all ten fingers, completely satisfied. The owner even advised us to order a smaller dish because portions are huge, not to push for the expensive options. The dish he recommended was so generous that we had leftovers to take home. This isn’t a tourist trap – it’s an authentic local gem.

Nice spot for some deliciously salty fish and chips while on the road. Reasonably priced and very tasty. Seating available inside and immediately outside the door or there is a nice little park across the road to enjoy the meal with long vehicle parking in front. Forgot to snap a pic of the meal as it was enjoyed while hot - but sweet little park and long vehicle parking may help fellow travellers. Total for two adults - fish & chips (shared), two crabs sticks, dim sim and a Pluto pup (childhood favourite) was $24.50.

Where do I start. This place is so run down and dirty inside. You can tell nothing has been cleaned in ages with all the dust on everything. We ordered a Pluto pup, chicken sausage and $5 chips. My parents order two pieces of fish and chips. The owner was the only one on. We looked at the fryers and started to question how old the oil is and how long since the place has been cleaned. We were waiting for 20 minutes. He kept serving other ppl which is fine but he didn’t even start cooking our food. We then realised the lobster shack was down the road and had great food so we decided to get our money back and leave. The rudeness and attitude the owner showed was horrible. He said the oil has never been cleaner, you could clearly see it was old oil and from the smell. (We have owned successful take away businesses and yes we know safety and hygiene). The owner said he has never had a complaint and said good luck finding somewhere better. I told him that he had a great customer service attitude. He threw down the $50 note onto the bench returning it to my mum and I said we will go to lobster shack. We were right. Lobster shack was amazing and...

The pizza was really good with big pineapple chunks. This whole experience was ruined by the young man serving. My husband was a US NAVY SEAL Master Chief, serving 40 years for his country. He is Italian Apache and has brown skin. When he went in to this cafe about 4 or 5 customers were ahead of him when he placed his order. More than 10 came and placed orders after him. He patiently waited and asked several times why he was being pushed down the line. He was fobbed off by the young boy saying there was 30 orders ahead of him , but no 30 orders went out. The boy kept smirking and flirting with girls in the shop. Finally served, my husband came out very upset saying he waited over 45 minutes behind others arriving after him and felt it was his colouring. When I went into ask why he was treated so rudely the boy denied it and smirked to the girls and was very arrogant. We are very sorry for the manager who was preparing very good food because this one individual is very childish and rude and does not treat customers equally. Sad how one individual can ruin a...
