Canberra Cafe & Burgers — Restaurant in District of Belconnen

Surprise gem this is - this little unassuming looking cafe exceeded our expectations when we came here for dinner on a quiet Wednesday night. We ordered the chilli master wings and a schnitty. Couldn't fault the wings at all, it was miles better than the wings they serve across the road at Patty Smiths. The wings were moist, the sauce was gusty in terms of heat yet very flavourful and the tomato relish served on the side gave a hint of sweetness that paired beautifully with the chilli hit. The serving size of the schnitty meal was generous and the schnitty itself was moist with a good crispy coating. The chips would have done with maybe 60 seconds less in the fryer but nonetheless it was well seasoned. The other improvement that could be made would be the salad, while the amount was generous, some components of the salad were stale and the dressing used was questionable, if it was supposed to be a vinaigrette then it was missing the sharpness to cut through everything else on the "plate". The aioli on the other hand was superb in terms of both flavour and consistency. Will definitely come back for burgers next time - flavour is king and this place...

Today, we go to Belconnen for our breakfast with my family. To celebrate the Australian Day on the 26th, at the cafe, it has the new name, the Canberra Cafe and Burgers, at Emu Bank.

The cafe changed a lot when I came for the first time, over two decades ago when they first opened the cafe.

We had our breakfast, the staff were fantastic and friendly, as they serve us.

Back to my favourite 😍 Canberra Cafe and Burgers restaurant 😋 after eight months 😋.

We had our lunch there for the first time. The food is great and delicious. We all loved the meals 😋 😍.

We had our lovely dog with us ❤️ they have amazing food for them 😋. We ordered 😀 and when the food came 😀 in a green, try so nice 😀.

Also, on Sundays, all the children menu are free, for every two meals are ordered 👌.

I looked at the manu, then I released it is also a Mexican food.

food wasn't really good as I thought it will be. I had the chicken schnitzel twice, it was not good. The consistency of the gravy was watery; it was also tasteless; and the serving was small. Although the salad the schnitzel was seasoned, it did not compliment with the chips. I bought coffee and their banana bread (home made). I could not taste any banana at all and the acidity of the coffee was high. Staff improperly used the coffee machine. Steam wands were left dirty after steaming milk, which is bad for the machine and also disgusting. I have also tried the mixed berry smoothie, consistency was okay not that thick not to liquidy though the taste was faint. I tried the fish and chips just as expected it was extremely disappointing but the staff members were really friendly and service as good too. Prices would be fair if the food quality is up to its standard. I wont be coming...
