I just had the pleasure of dining at The Poet Restaurant Belconnen, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious! Every dish was prepared with care, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented. Whether it was the appetisers and main course, each bite left us wanting more. You can tell that the ingredients are fresh and of high quality, and the attention to detail in the preparation is truly impressive. The service was just as outstanding as the food. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, ensuring that our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable. They were quick to respond to any requests and made excellent recommendations from the menu. The ambiance of the restaurant also added to the overall experience—warm, inviting, and perfect for a relaxed meal. I would highly recommend The Poet restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. Great food, excellent service, and a wonderful atmosphere—what more could you ask for? I’ll definitely be back! Thank you 😊🙏✨

Recently on one of my friend's recommendation I went to this "The Poet" restaurant which is recently opened up in Belconnen, Canberra. Name of the restaurant really created some curiosity in my mind. Quite unique name and I was keen to explore the menu.. In frame: Tandoori Jhinga (prawns), Chicken Crisps..it was full of flavours and outstanding 👌 plus in mains we ordered High Way Chicken Curry and Chicken Kurchan, along with Cheese Naan & Garlic Naan with some Saffron rice. Omgggg I loved the Highway Chicken it was marvellous 😋 it's rustic flavour was so different from regular curries. A must try from this place.. Finally concluded the dinner with yummy Gulab Jamun (sweet dumplings) and Gajar ka Halva (carrot pudding). Ambience was pretty cool with Bollywood music in the background. I found entire team very humble and customer friendly. Who were constantly engaging with the guests. Overall, a fantastic Friday Evening I had. Thank you Team The Poet for the memorable evening, can't wait to be back soon!!!

This is the worst of worst restaurant I had ever experienced. I went there for dinner with my family, we were pretty excited as it’s our first time in that restaurant but it was really bad experience. The Chicken Biryani and chicken curry which we ordered had raw chicken. The taste was really bland and the biryani got just one big piece of chicken which was also raw. As a snacks we had chicken 65 which we felt also raw but at that time we are not sure because of the colour of chicken. Aloo paratha also not well cooked as well as there was barely any stuffings. When I complained showing the raw chicken and asked to call the chef, he even didn’t show up. I barely write reviews of the restaurant but this time it’s so bad that I couldn’t help myself from writing as I don’t want anyone to experience same. The service was really quick but the quality is really bad.At last rather than to apologise or give any complimentary they even charge me. Never gonna go there again.

The Poet is an excellent venue to book for private functions. The ambience is fantastic for a casual event with friends and family. The restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere, soft lighting and top-notch customer service.

We recently booked the restaurant for an EID lunch and found the entire process to be very seamless. Madhav (the owner) was very cooperative, friendly, attentive and went above and beyond in ensuring a memorable EID experience for us. The restaurant staff was equally friendly and attentive too.

All the guests really enjoyed the food as it was oozing with freshness and flavors. Some items stood out to be everyone’s favorite, like the papdi chaat, fry fish and chicken tikka in entrée, Palak Paneer and Chicken Khurchan in the mains and Gulab Jamuns for dessert.

It’s a tradition for many South Asian families to have Sheer Khorma for dessert on Eid, and I asked Madhav if he could include that in dessert. Without any hesitation, Madhav agreed, although it wasn’t a part of their menu. The Sheer Khorma impressed all of us as it had the right balance of vermicelli, sugar, and milk. The roasted nuts sprinkled as the garnish were like cherries on top.

Our experience was nothing short of exceptional and dealing with Madhav and his team was a delight from start to finish. The delicious food, impeccable service and a welcoming ambience made for a...

My recent visit to Poet Restaurant left much to be desired. Upon placing an order for biryani, we were surprised to receive fried rice instead. When we inquired about this discrepancy, we were informed that the main owner was absent, thus biryani couldn't be prepared. This lack of preparation and communication was disappointing, especially considering biryani was a featured item on the menu.

To add insult to injury, we were charged separately for onions and chili, which were only presented at the very end of our meal. These items are typically considered basic accompaniments and should have been included or clearly mentioned beforehand. Additionally, our order of yogurt came with an unexpected extra charge for raita came with Biryani. No yogurt was served at all. But staff mentioned raita is similar to yogurt and charged $5. We have never heard Raita is similar to plain yogurt .

Overall, the food service fell short of expectations. While the flavors were decent, the execution and attention to detail were sorely lacking. It's disheartening to have such an experience, especially when dining out is meant to be an enjoyable occasion. Hopefully, the management addresses these issues to ensure a more satisfying experience for...
