Flavoursome, hot chai great for a cold day. (Edit: the turmeric on oat milk is also really good!) This is a new business in Kingston, and it’s great to see some variety (the coffee market is pretty much saturated here). The staff were cheerful and friendly, and gave a good recommendation based on what I was after (non-dairy and not too sweet). They have 10 different chai blends, and all but one can be made dairy-free. I had the Ashley’s Chai with oat milk and it was super tasty. It had a rich, peppery flavour that was really perfect for a cold morning. Still quite sweet for my taste, but not overpowering on the sugar. At $7.50 a (large takeaway) cup, it’s definitely an indulgence, but one I’d happily pay for again if I wanted a treat. Their roti menu also looks really good so I’ll try that next time. While I was there, I could hear the staff talking quite genuinely about which blend was their favourite and how to make the drinks taste the best. It’s great to know that the staff take pride in what they’re selling, and I hope this shop goes well.

I was curious to see the one star review. A bit harsh to give these guys 1 star based on opening hours. An easy mistake that can also be rectified. So I hope the review readers take it with a grain of salt. I've only been to the Kingston ACT cafe and can hands down tell you it's the best chai I've ever had. The staff work so hard to produce such a quality product. Each drink is made from scratch and not from a powder or syrup. This being said expect to wait a little longer because they are handcrafting each little cup of heaven for you. All good things take time. Not only are the drinks delicious, so is their new food menu and to top it off, I have yet to experience a poor quality staff member. Everyone that has greeted me has been very friendly. I've been here over 5 times and celebrated my birthday brunch with my family here recently too. Thank you guys for being such a top quality place. I hope you stick around for many years to come!

I definitely think Ambi’s is a great place to come for a nice chai with friends! The ambience inside is warm and homely, with rugs, a couch and booths to sit in. But visiting alone I felt a bit out of place. I also think this is a place to grab one of their famous chais rather than a meal. The only food is roti with either a chicken or chickpea (vegetarian) filling. I got the chicken roti which was tasty, but it is chai that they are known for and I feel a bit silly not trying one. Service was friendly, but slow. Considering that it was fairly quiet, I thought my food would come a bit quicker than 20 or so minutes. Perhaps one more person in the kitchen would be helpful.

Serious lapse in judgement today by staff of this cafe. In the middle of the day, a few staff members decided to use the cafe (closed at the time) to film an armed robbery - I assume for a school project or marketing material? Only problem was they didn't notify any of the patrons of neighbouring businesses, nor did they advise the police before they started.

To onlookers it looked as if two masked people with a gun stormed into the cafe, shouted out, triggered an alarm, and then burst out of the cafe onto the street. I saw one person sprint away out of fear... It sounds ridiculous, but it was convincing enough for several people to call 000, run in different directions, and flag down a passing police car.

Seriously, I can't believe I'm even leaving this review, but I'm astounded that no one thought to give people a heads up, put out a sign, or make it obvious what they were doing.

Not sure this business has the community's best...
