Came here for our first dining experience in Canberra and left with great experience and good food. We had a fantastic experience here! From the moment we walked in, Yogi greeted us with a big smile and was incredibly friendly throughout our visit. He even offered to take some photos for us, which was such a nice touch. Yogi was also super accommodating when we wanted to customise our food order — nothing was too much trouble. The ambience of the place is lovely too — great decor and a relaxed vibe, not too loud, just perfect for a comfortable night out. And if you can handle your spice, don’t miss out on the Scorpion chilli sauce! 🔥 Definitely not for the faint-hearted, but worth the challenge. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

My son and I came here after seeing the Giacometti to Suzanne exhibition at the NGA . The warming welcome of burning cinnamon over chunky apple shiraz Sangria . I had my thirst quenched by an iced Agave margarita . Relaxing , refreshing & a great playlist to make you forget the cold & enjoy the burn . The cauliflower tacos were small morsells of joy . What a great Saturday night spent with my son . Rob the Barman will set you right !

What a find! Recommended by friends, and it did not disappoint! Tacos were mouthwatering and very fresh! Cocktails were equally outstanding, such fun and flavoursome combinations! And the staff just make the place! So warm and welcoming, in particular Rob, who took the time to walk us through the menu and offer personal recommendations! We will be back!

Place: nothing Mexican taqueria about it, is just a bar (formerly honky tonks) Music: too loud Rap music, basically just to seat, eat and leave, not able to have a conversation Drinks: Miniature Margaritas for the price, tasty but expensive for that amount, Draft Beers charged as schooner price for midi size, I asked for Mezcal Reposado and did not have it neither Negra Modelo Beer (really?) Food: Flour Tortillas with tasty fillings, tried the Birria, Pastor (good attempt) and Fish no complaints there, Guacamole: Pricey your rather smashed your own avo and chop your own tomatoes, onions and get your own chips you may save at least 10 dollars and have a good chat at your own place. The place must be re-named Loquita Bar, with tacos for snacks, there is not such thing as Tequila/Mezcal since the menu offers a few cocktails and offer is limited. place is not inviting and ordinary and with the drinks is evident someone is skimming off the top in both cocktails and draft beers. by the way if it happen that you go and have tacos, look how many people approach the bar with their hands covered in taco sauce asking for a napkin (no napkins when you serve food that is to be eaten with your hands!) two margaritas and box of...

Heard about Loquita in the HerCanberra newsletter and thought we’d give it a try as they were new and we love Mexican. So glad we did! It had great food, friendly service, affordable and most of all it was a fun dining experience! We were a family of 4 with teenagers. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere was really great with a mix of tall tables with stools, and some standard height tables with ottomans. We booked our table using Open Table and went early on a Saturday night at 5pm. There was upbeat music playing quite loud and the menu was a bit limited in choice (we ordered about half of what was available). Guacamole with house corn chips (amazing), Sweet corn (pictured), quesadillas, and 4 types of tacos (sweet corn taco pictured). It was fresh and flavoursome and we really enjoyed it. To drink we had the Mexi-cola and the Cactus juice and they were unique and delicious. The whole meal was $94 including an alcoholic apple cider. The staff were lovely, served quickly and we finished in 1hr. There was a queue building of people ordering, guess some would be taking away to the many apartments in the city these days. We had a lovely evening and wish them all the best with their new venture. We...

Wow, what a fantastic place to dine if you're wanting a chill and fun vibe! Not only was the food fantastic but the service was a major highlight plus they make some mean concoctions at the bar 🔥 Hubby, pup and I found Loquita on Google en route to Canberra from Melbourne, saw the review and knew we had to try it. Let me tell you, they did not disappoint! We didn't have a reservation and seeing as we had our big fur-baby, wasn't holding our breath to get a table considering how busy they were. The Loquita staff were so friendly and accommodated us outside. Drinks wise we had the Caliente margarita, Tommy margarita, El Jefe (old fashioned) and Watermelon cooler (mocktail). All these drinks were LIT 🔥! Food wise we got the guac, street corn, chorizo taco, prawn taco, barbocoa taco, cauliflower tacos and eggplant tacos. Highlight food wise was the guac, chorizo tacos and cauliflower tacos. So good we got a second order. Thanks so much Loquita for a fantastic dinner and...
