Went there with some friends on a Friday night. It wasn’t overly busy. We were seated at a high table that was sticky and had not been cleaned. I asked around 3 staff members multiple times to clean the table but they would keep cleaning other tables around us that were empty but not our table. Would constantly avoid eye contact when trying to grab their attention to wipe the table. Finally when the female staff did come in to clean, she didn’t look happy that she had to clean. We were all sitting around with our drinks and she started spraying the cleaner aggressively all over the table so we all got a taste of the cleaner on our clothes and mouth and possibly in our drinks. Just unbelievable. Staff were unfriendly, unapproachable and looked like they hate their job, especially the girl who cleaned our table or I should say sprayed us with the...
Read moreThe food was decent but the service wasn't great. I recently stopped by here for lunch before visiting the War Memorial and asked if I could remove the regular fries from my main and add sweet potatoes fries (which are on the sides menu). The server said no and that I had to order them as a separate side. It just amazes me as to why they would be so inflexible with their menu. Every other pub I've ever bee to easily swaps sides around and costs the main accordingly. Sweet potato fries cost more and I would expect an additional cost to the main so it's not as if I was asking for them at no additional cost. I suspect it's because the server wasn't bothered to do the math or otherwise couldn't as he seemed a bit confused when I asked. If you're in the area and feel like a pub meal then give this place a try but definitely not worth going out of...
Read moreBusy at lunchtimes through the week with workers from close by buildings. Excellent well placed outdoor seating with long tables and benches, big shade umbrellas, makes for cosy easily accessible atmosphere. I had a roasted Pumpkin salad, just delicious. My husband had Mushroom Arancini balls which he thoroughly enjoyed. Staff are great and in abundance, we had our Twin Granddaughters in a double pram at a busy lunch hour over Christmas and were treated as other customers were, we sat at a long table for 6 but kept to one end, we weren’t hurried up by staff and were able to feed the babies and enjoy our excellent coffee. We returned on Boxing Day but they weren’t open, but Teddy Pickers cafe next door was, and overflowing with customers, hopefully they have a neighbour roster system in place which is...
