Lagom — Restaurant in District of Gungahlin

My wife and I have been getting coffee from Lagom for a long time. There was a barista there some time ago who made amazing coffee. I haven't seen him there for a while now though and the coffee, while serviceable, isn't anywhere near as good as it used to be. My wife still enjoys their chai latte's though. Still, we knew that and went for lunch the other day and I must say, I didn't really love it. We got their 'Big Breakfast' equivalent and shared, as we often do. Portion size wasn't the biggest and the quality of cooking not the best. Prices were again, a little high, but that's the economy we seem to be in right now. The staff were a blend of friendly and indifferent, so it really depends on who serves you. Lots of seating, inside mostly with a little outside. Atmosphere was a little busy, so didn't feel as relaxing as I think we were looking for. No music. Anyway, not a bad place to go if you want a cafe and you're in Gunners, but slowly dropping off our go-to list. I'll be trying the Coffee Club just a few doors down next time I think for...

Poor customer service. I walked in the door and was directed to a table,for which i presumed was table service. Upon informing the waitress i only wanted a drink she said to go order at the counter. I ordered at the counter and sat back down. My drink was served with a smile. I tasted the drink and realised instantly they'd got my order wrong. I asked them to correct it.The barista looked at me with an annoyed expression on his face and said he'd sold me the last of the drink I'd ordered. No apology or understanding, just annoyance and short sharp 'no we can't replace it'. I was then handed the cash amount of the drink in refund.The waitress simply said 'my bad' and walked off leaving me with the wrong drink. I walked out and received no acknowledgement as i left.These guys could provide such a better experience. Especially after they replaced the old G-Tree Cafe which had the best...

Unfortunately the chicken in my ‘Gourmet chicken sandwich’ was off. Absolutely revolting. The staff were very good about it and provided a refund but it doesn’t change the fact that if I’d eaten more than two bites, I would’ve been seriously ill. My partner tried a small bit of chicken to check and it had definitely gone bad.

Also, I’d pulled out the (fried) chicken to let it cool and ate some of the sandwich as is and it wasn’t good - not much salad and drowned in ranch. Finally, for a so-called ‘gourmet’ sandwich for $18 I expected better bread than basic sliced white.

My partner has a bland Caesar salad with a ‘poached’ egg that wasn’t runny and little dressing/ seasoning.

The staff and service was very good and the place is nice but I won’t ever lunch there again. I hope they improve their food because it has lots...
