Folly Rooftop Bar — Restaurant in East Perth

Such an amazing venue let down by unprofessional staff and poor service. Food was extremely below average for the price, pizzas were either burnt or tasted of nothing. Mushroom pizza had absolutely no flavour, just the dough. Drinks service was slow and bar staff spoke politely but it was obvious they didn’t want to be there and couldn’t care less about customer experience. Waited 45 minutes for drinks to be delivered to a table, when chased up at the bar I was offered a free round which I was grateful for however when I went back to get this free round, the bar tender looked at me like I was an idiot until reluctantly putting it through. I could understand the wait if it was busy, but it wasn’t busy at all. As someone who has worked in the hospitality industry as a Chef and bar/restaurant staff I really couldn’t understand what was going wrong. Such a let down, management needs to do something about their poor customer service and improve food quality...

It was our first time at Folly roof top bar, we met up with friends from interstate and overseas, the place seemed quite nice until I was standing at the bar waiting to order 1 beer. I looked over where food was being served and watched one staff member transferring food, what looked to be seafood, I'm not positive, but 3 times he put his fingers in his mouth while transferring the food to be served to a customer. I asked the gentleman serving me was it common practice for someone to do that, other staff heard me and went to speak to him, and I also spoke to him, telling him I saw him do it 3 times. He proceeded to tell me that he needs to taste the food, ummm not with your fingers, repeatedly. I own a cafe and have my food handlers' certificate, my wife has her supervisor's certificate, and we were both shocked at what we watched and by his story to cover up. Nice place but will...

$180 just for a reservation and the service was unbelievably bad! There was no one at the front desk, no one to guide you where to sit, and you can’t even tell who works there. It took us a long time just to find a staff member, and when we finally did, they were super rude when we asked a few simple questions. The whole experience was chaotic. You have to line up just to order drinks, and they even tell you a specific time to come back and line up again, seriously? For a so called fancy place, that’s ridiculous. Even Maccas has better service than this bar. The menu was basic and boring, nothing worth the hype. The only good thing was the view but that alone doesn’t make it worth a $180 non refundable reservation fee. Honestly, the customer service deserves a negative score.
