Wok & Ladle: Thai Eatery — Restaurant in East Perth

In 2019 we traveled to Perth from Brisbane and we loved this place. Whenever we could, we ate here. I raved about their food to friends that were holidaying there. I was so disappointed that they really missed the mark at our recent visit last week. They were busy with many people speaking loud in this small restaurant, which is fine, but for them to squeeze in more tables to accommodate more diners where you could not hold a conversation with your partner was disappointing. We ordered a serve of spring rolls and a curry each. My curry came out straight after we placed the order and I informed that we had ordered the spring rolls as entree, in which was not fazed. We waited about 5 minutes before my husbands curry and rice arrived. The spring rolls came out well into our meal which did not eat. We saw this same girl deliver the incorrect dish to someone who was sitting outside and then raced outside to deliver the correct one. She then took the incorrect dish straight to the correct diner inside rather than taking back to the kitchen to prepare a fresh one. I had a masaman beef from here last night and I can confidently say it was not only the worst masaman I’ve ever had but just the worst meal all together. I just moved to the area and came here because of the good reviews. I felt like the whole meal was prepared in 5min to order. The meat was beef strips, not slow cooked beef chunks, that were fatty and chewy. There was very little sauce which was also very runny and the only flavour I could taste was salt. No potato, only raw onions and overcooked carrots. The only edible part was rice.
