UPDATE 2024.03 Oh boy, must try their Dinn Thai Spicy (prawn & scallop), one of a kind, scallops just simply melts in the mouth, cooked to perfection! On this occasion, the lighting was a bit too dim, not very friendly to diners especially those with eye conditions in the dark.

UPDATED 17/12/2023 Returned for dining and absolutely amazing. Friendly and fast services, every dishes we ordered is just extraordinarily delicious, although the basil stir fry chicken could do better with more basil. We love Thai cuisine and have tried many Thai restaurants around Perth including Spice Market Karrinyup and Bangkok Brothers, this place is just simply unbeatable! Best Thai Milk Tea ever (would choose this over bubble tea anytime too!). 1st time trying, got takeaway. Absolutely amazed with the way the whole fried fish is packed, other restaurant would only pack the fillets in the standard plastic take away container but DinnThai79 packs the whole fish including the bones in a decent sized aluminium foil tray, sauce packed separately which is super delicious. Every dish we ordered were absolutely divine, especially the fish and green curry. Their IcedThai Milk Tea is a MUST TRY, I have not tasted this good of a Thai Milk Tea anywhere in Perth, strong in taste and just the right sweetness. I’d go back just for the Milk Tea, hopefully this is kept up to standards forever and not drop as time passes by. I loved my time here at this little restaurant. The waitstaff were punctual, attentive, informative, excellent. I ordered the prawn and scallop chef special. I was asked if I'm ok with spicy food and not long after my enthusiastic yes I was served a stunningly fragrant, hot and very spicy plate of perfectly cooked prawns and scallops in a delightfully balanced sauce. I was satisfied to see a generous serve of seafood and, when paired with a beautiful bowl of rice, it proved a stunningly delicious meal.

Then came dessert. It was described to me as two scoops of coconut ice cream with sticky rice. But the coconut ice cream went beyond my expectations. Not too sweet, filled with little chunks of young coconut jel, droolworthy on its own. It sat atop some larger pieces of that same coconut jel and a slightly salty, warm pandan infused sticky rice. The resulting desert was a study of pure synergy that left me very impressed!

TL:DR I absolutely loved my meal here. When told it was spicy it came spicy just as one should expect when eating a Thai dish with chilli in the name. The dessert suggestion was so good it seemed tailored to my personal taste. All this was done with snappy, professional service. You couldn't...

Disappointing Experience – Poor Service and Misleading Closing Time

We live at 128 Adelaide Terrace, right next to this restaurant, and have visited twice recently for dinner—once at 8:20 PM and again at 8:30 PM. On both occasions, we were turned away by the restaurant manager, Elle, who said we could only dine in if we could finish our meal quickly.

On the first visit at 8:20 PM, we were asked to order takeaway instead of being allowed to dine in. During our second visit, when we arrived at 8:30 PM, we questioned why we weren’t being accommodated despite the restaurant’s advertised closing time of 9:00 PM. Elle had no clear explanation.

In our understanding, a restaurant that closes at 9:00 PM should allow customers to be seated and served any time before then. The treatment we received felt dismissive and unwelcoming, especially considering we are local residents who were simply hoping to enjoy a meal with family.

Unfortunately, the overall attitude of the staff came across as poorly trained and lacking in basic customer service etiquette. It was an unpleasant and disappointing experience. I would not recommend this place—there are far better dining options in the area that truly value...
