I was eager to try new restaurant in East Perth. I usually go to Victoria Park to get indonesian take away food so hoped this one is good and I can just get Indonesian food near by. We went at 11am. I could see $15 lunch special promotion at the outside of the restaurant so I was looking at to try that. No lunch special description was in the menu so I asked the staff about lunch special then she said fried rice. So I asked back if that is Nasi Goreng as I was expecting some flavour and condiments (eg. sambal & chicken satay) rather than just fried rice I can cook at home easily. The staff answered yes so I ordered that. We ordered lamb satay 6pc ($21) and grilled squid ($35) as well. We were the only customers at the time so didn't expect food would take long but dishes came out at 11:42. I felt that was pretty long time. Lamb satay was good and grilled squid was okay but the lunch special was the biggest disappointment. It was just fried rice (which was the one originally the staff said to me rather than Nasi Goreng) with some cabbages and beaten egg with few prawn crackers and bit of green leaves besides topped with a fried egg without a flavour in the fried rice so I asked to have some sambal sauce which was $1 extra. If I did get an explanation of the ingredients in the fried rice I would rather order Nasi Goreng with tofu ($17.5) or chicken ($19). I cannot understand how come that no flavoured cabbage and egg fried rice is the lunch special with $15 price tag. I thought lunch special means value meal or discounted meal in good quality. With $15, I could have Vietnamese combination beef noodle soup or Chinese fried rice with egg, bba pork and prawn with satisfactions. One pub in the city is doing Monday special menu 'Roast & Pint' for $20. This was our first try but we were not impressed at all. Hoped the restaurant should do better to get...
Read moreSo disappointed. We waited months for restaurant to finally open in Terrace Rd. What a disappointment. We advised them from the very beginning we lived close and would frequent their restaurant if we were looked after. The last time we went , we were feeling like a nibble on something so asked for a bag of prawn crackers till our meal arrived. They were OK . When we went to pay the bill they had charged $10 for the bag, which to buy on line is $3. We did make a complaint and the waiter said, but we don’t charge you corkage. Well they well and truely made up for it. They didn’t even offer to change it to the actual price. Last night we decided to try the takeaway vegetarian pizza . I had seen it served in the restaurant and it looked great. Well no , another fail . It’s advertised as Mushrooms , spinach , artichoke, black olives, roast capsicum and vegan cheese . Sounds good. But mushrooms, maybe 3 pieces if you could find them, they were so thinly sliced. No spinach. No marinated capsicum. Artichokes maybe 5 or 6 torn off leaves from canned artichokes. Black olives, yes there were a few scattered around . They were the bottled variety, pitted and sliced. Certainly nothing like I saw delivered in their restaurant. Well, they’ve lost us. Could have been a long and happy relationship. But money is tight these day and you need to get value for your...

It's worth coming back. Probably try Italian food next time. Grilled Chicken Skewers, $22: There are 6 skewers with house peanut sauce on the bottom, giardinera (radish, carrot, and cucumber @ 1 slice), and salad on the side. No chilies.
