My family and I dined at Royal Cambodia tonight as we heard the food was remarkable. We had arrived at 5pm as that's what the opening time on the door reads but they seemed to be still closed so we just waited. As the waitress opened the door we did not receive a warm welcome but stuck to our plans to dine in. There looked to have been two staff on in which both were scarce majority of the time. The wait time for food was prompt and our entrees fortunately were yummy. Our mains arrive but our entree plates were still sitting infront of us and our waiter did not ask us if we enjoyed our entrees. Unfortunately most of our main courses were not so appetising. My dish was delicious although to my horror there was a long black hair through it. Another meal was completely bland and not what he'd ordered so he did not eat it and the chicken/pork to the other meals were chewy and not at all edible. Upon paying my friend had mentioned his bland meal and I had mentioned the hair in mine. I work in hospitality and had been and have been else where extremely understanding of a single hair or a bland meal but was disgusted by the lack of customer service received. We ordered lamb korma , fried rice with chicken as chosen protein and curry puffs and prawns in blanket ( something like that ) as entree.
This was by far the best curry based meal I’ve had in ages. Everything was done correct. The lamb was slow cooked perfectly, the potatoes n veggies were tender and hot. The sauce was perfect. Rice was full of stuff to the point where I’d say you can reduce the amount of protein ( 1st world problems ) I hope the curry puffs are not some generic frozen things because they didn’t feel as such. The prawn entree was fun n simple. I love that sort of simple finger food but it still had to be put together by someone.

Read moreWe oftenly dine at this restaurant. We had a dinner on Satureday 08 February, 2025. The food and service was good, however this was a second time we saw a ‘Cockroach’ in the dining area under the chairs where a big group was sitting.
Though we killed it, the staff was looking at it and were not at all concerned about it… Not a responsible attitude in a Hospitality industry. On the basis of crawling insects on the floor, one cannot rule out the possibility of ‘Cockroaches’ in the kitchen cooking area.
The Aircon was not adequate enough for the size of the dinning area and even not working properly. Along with us there were other guests using the manual fan. It was not a good experience tonight. Please look into it to rectify the aircon and a serious...
