The Partisan — Restaurant in East Perth

Had a very dissappointing experience with our visit to Partisan on Sunday, March 19th. We had made a reservation for nine people ahead of time, but when we arrived, we discovered that our table was not set up and our reservation was missing. The staff looked clueless and did not say sorry or explain what happened. We had to stand around for 10 minutes before we got a table.

We decided to order our food separately at 12:15pm, one after another, since it was a big group. We ended up ordering: 3 steak sandwiches, 3 prawn linguine, 1 ribs, 1 corn fritters and 1 fish and chips. 1 steak sandwich and 1 prawn linguine came out after 40 minutes, and then 1 steak sandwich, 1 prawn linguine, the ribs, corn fritters and fish and chips came out after another 15 minutes. We expected the last steak sandwich and prawn linguine to come out soon, but we noticed they started to serve other tables who had ordered after us. We questioned the staff and she asked one of the lady in the kitchen. The first question they asked was "are you sure you haven't received it?" She did not believed us and walked over to our table to check. She saw the steak sandwich and prawn linguine and told us we did received it. We told them that we ordered 3 steak sandwich and 3 prawn linguine in total. She looked at us and left to the kitchen. Another staff walked over and said that they had forgotten about it and it will come out soon. Finally the staff brings over the last 2 meals. No apologies or anything. By this time it was already 1:30pm and everyone else on the table has finished their meal.

The service was terrible from start to end and the food was below average. We did not have a good time and will never come back. I will never recommend this...

I made reservation for lunch at this place before going for lumber axe. You order at the counter, pay and food will be served. Depending on the size of crowd, the food can be served fast. We ordered the cran and prawn pasta, pork belly hash, chill crab scrambled eggs, pork ribs and a slice of burnt/basque cheesecake (called NY cheesecake here). It. Was. A. Fulfilling. Meal.

Special mention of the chips! It is one of the best chips I've had here in Perth so far. (Within 3mths). Very crispy and soft on the inside even after being in room temperature. The same with the hash. Crispy on the outside, soft in the inside. I'm not quite a fan of pasta, I didn't mind a few spoons of pasta here. It was tasty. Though the capers were expanded. Maybe intentionally. The portion of food is meant for single hungry consumption. The dessert cake was good. It has the digestive biscuit base which is not the conventional basque/burnt cheesecake.

The ambiance. Love. We had the perfect table By the river. Good view, good weather. Made the experience perfect. Special shout-out to the fun cashier who advised that I needed more food but I didn't listen and had to re-order. We shared our laughs. I didn't get her name but I was there for my 11.30 reservation....

My wife and I went for the first time for dinner last night. The location is fantastic and the view makes for a really pleasurable experience. We were quite pleased with the quality of the food as well as the pricing. We ordered a variety of starters and shared. The service was a bit hit and miss. There seemed to be too many wait staff present and we were asked the same question from multiple staff members on many occasions, which became a little bit annoying. Overzealous waiters tend to ‘get in the way’ of a nice night out with a loved one. I guess it can be hard at times to judge how many staff you would need rostered on, but they didn’t seem to have any tables allocated to each person so they all kept coming up and asking you when you are ready to order and trying to take drink orders after we had already placed them with someone else. At times 3 different waiters tried taking our order. But on one occasion, one person who took a drink order didn’t even put it in to the system and we had to get them to go back quite some time later to make sure my wife got a glass of wine. The order hadn’t actually been processed. I understand some places just have off nights, so I would likely consider going back again and give it another...
