Aptly named, this house opposite Queen's Park provides a delightful amount of street noise for those unfortunate enough to be seated on the footpath. Luck of the draw as to where you can find a spot though because this place, while relatively large, is always busy and for good reason. It's a winner. Even in the worst seats on the street you're not neglected at all. Service is equally good for those in the nosebleed. Drink orders taken almost immediately. Correct order of service. I was craving a full English brekky, so accordingly ordered an English brekky tea which let me just say was delightful and I mean 10/10 would sip that pot with Queen Lizzy herself (seriously Liz, hit me up if you're keen). Service asked my preference on milk and sugar. Said no to both to prove how manly I am. Came without sugar but with milk. I guess they knew I wasn't as manly as I'd made out. No full English on the menu, rather there is the Park House Brekky. Weirdly, the full English seems to be becoming an endangered species, having been replaced by the good but not-quite-the-same benedict, so I was happy the Park House Brekky was available. Not that I don't love a good Benny, in fact it's gotta rank second best. Perhaps I'm biased though - England til I die. The Park House Brekky was great. One small complaint that the hollandaise could have used a bit more boldness in flavour. Probably just a little more seasoning and it would've gained the pop it was craving. Chipolata were stand out of the dish. Love me a herby snag. Also good thickness and toasting on the bread. One perfect runny yolk. One not. The side of chips? Hot. Crisp. Fluffy, and perfectly seasoned. Excellent chips. I love nachos. Can be brilliant but if they miss the mark it can be a major let down. These ones were interesting and I use that vague description intentionally. The individual elements were kinda weird and not in a good way. Queso sauce was good but not great and for lack of greatness I suggest sticking with just traditional cheese? Cheese was great and if you can't make it better, don't mess with it. House guac was nice. Kudos. Portion size was generous but sauce was not distributed evenly. Common nacho problem. It's a presentation thing. Everyone groups the elements leading to uneven distribution but nice presentation. The solution is layering. Chips - sauce - chips - meat - topping. Given these few (nit-picky) negatives, imagine my surprise when true synergy was found when enjoying all elements together. Honestly 1+1=5 in this case. All the elements REALLY hit it off together. It was an unexpected delight. My favourite kind of delight. A few minor minor minor points in this one but in all truth the park house brekky was 5 stars. Not an ounce of disappointment. The nachos were so close but not quite there for me. Definitely worth trying for yourself though, but if you're on the fence between the chos and something else, maybe go the something else. A closing thought: more than one napkin at a cafe/restaurant...
Read morePossibly the worst meal I have ever had! My daughter and I went to park house for lunch yesterday. Staff very helpful, however should have warned us about the excessive delay in receiving our meal, then we would have gone elsewhere. In hindsight we should have. Ordered drinks, two soft drinks, more than 20 mins to arrive. Ordered food, two BLT sandwiches. One gluten free with no aoli requested. The other was meant to be on Turkish bread.!after about 40 mins, we were told it would be too much longer. Arrived 15 minutes after that. The chips were old and cold, the gf BLT had aoli on it. We also requested avocado on our sandwich and half an avocado was slapped on the plate. I asked for our meals to be returned, due to the chips and aioli, mentioning that the avocado was ordered for in the sandwich. 20 minutes later, our meal arrived. The half avocado was just put on the sandwich, the chips foul and cold, just the small end of the bag, the tomato and lettuce only fit for the bin, I had herbed brioche bun instead of Turkish bread which was doughy and awful. Bacon greasy and very fatty. I didn’t eat mine, my daughter ate the bread. Lining up I complained to staff and another man in the line also had a similar complaint. We did not pay for our meal but walked away hungry, with a foul taste in our mouth from the little bit we had eaten and after wasted two hours, we were looking forward to a lovely lunch. Should have gone elsewhere and will...

Good afternoon,
My wife and I had breakfast at your establishment on Sunday morning, before returning to Brisbane. This was not our 1st visit to you, you are our restaurant of choice whenever we're in Toowoomba. The food and service has always been high. Yesterday, however, was totally different. The service was slow, our food sat on the counter for at least 5 minutes before it was bought to our table, the kitchen staff had repeatedly rang the bell to get the meals delivered. My breakfast was cold and I returned it, my wife had cold bacon that she didn't eat. After about 10 minutes, my breakfast had not been returned so we went and paid. I was offered a takeout box, but declined, 2 minutes later, a takeout box was bought to us, again I declined. We told the wait staff that they were letting the kitchen staff down, by not prioritising properly. Whilst waiting to pay, maybe 5 mins more breakfasts were left to get cold, while staff took water around or cleared tables. It was obvious that there was not enough staff and we left disappointed. I am emailing, rather than leaving a google review as I am sure it was a one off based on our previous visits. We didn't pay for the cold breakfast or...
