This is our second time here. Our first time experience was very nice BUT this time it was disappointing 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 there were 3 main things that disappointed us today : 1. We had to wait for our food for approximately 50 mins and we were the only table ordering food at the time but then saw people arrive later than us and were getting there main meals before we even got our entree 2. The first dish that we got after a long wait was Grill Chicken so I asked one of the waitresses why is it taking so long and the answer was oh normally grill sector take longer time to cook okay that’s easy to understand but where is another dishes that we ordered?? We have ordered pork sausages, sticky rice , grill chicken, some grill pork salad and rice noodles salad where are they ? 3. I ordered Rice noodles salad here before and I really like it so I ordered that dish again but it came out very different from the one I used to have I asked them twice is that really the Rice noodles salad I ordered they confirmed yes it is the same so I showed them photo from the menu and asked why it looked so different from the photo and it tasted like Larb not Yum ?? One of the waitresses said we might had change some ingredients from your last visit but really I know the different between Yum rice noodles and Larb rice noodles ! if they really change that they shouldn’t have that photo on the menu anymore ! Please see photo ( I stirred the noodles to look for the YUM ingredients but I couldn’t find anything like the picture )

My partner and I walked past this venue this evening and decided to give it a try since it was packed with people. We were seated very quickly, and our order was taken within 15 minutes after being seated. Then I thought I would check on the reviews on Google and found many of the reviews are about how bad the service is and how long you have to wait for the food, and there comes the waiting game. The venue is super busy for sure, and they had three waiters on the floor taking orders and delivering meals. We waited about 20 minutes to get our drinks and water. Then another 40 minutes passed until the first dish finally arrived which is a beef salad. Each dish was spaced out a bit too long. 10 minutes to their close time, a table of three came and were seated next to us. Their food arrived within 15 minutes. So I guess that you can get your food quicker if you go just before they close. The dishes we got were great and tasty! However, there are a few competitors in this area. Ying Thai just across street, Garden Thai just down the road, and Red Basil just on the other side of Vic Park, all serve great Thai food with better services. I don’t think I will be going back to visit again but it’s a good experience of the Thai food.

Came here for the 4th time, all 3 previous experience was good, food tasted authentic, similar to what I had when I used to live in Bangkok. But this time round, the food was so disappointing. Not sure if the chefs have been replaced etc, food tasted off. Order the Issan Beef Steak, what they gave us was just thinly sliced steak on a hot plate, without the sauce as per the photo. Waitress came to apologise and said that the owner who knows how to make the sauce wasn't there so it came out like that. But we were still charged $24.50 for that dish, which should be waived off out of courtesy for their mistake. Not to mention the steak was tough as rubber. Just look at how sad it looks for that price. Tom Saab wasn't as good as before, colour and taste was off and very gooey, not to mention that they downsized it. Khao Pad Kai was very average and flavourless, unlike before too. Gai Yang...meat was tasteless. Very disappointed. $100 for 2 pax, sub standard food and quality, prepared hastily without putting in much effort and thoughts. Might not go back again.

REVIEWING FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE NOT THE FOOD.

Third time eating here, the third one we brought our dog and seated outside under the alfresco. We came at night just pass 8pm, on a fine saturday 17/10/2020 and immediately seated ourself near the staff entrance. We were right in the corner when out of sudden an older lady wearing blue t-shirt approach my wife like she was doing something dodgy. She said get out put your dog outside, in the same time she moved our table with our dog leash tangled in there and my wife had to quickly off leash my dog.

Then she cleaned up the other table and asked us to move to the other table and saying there is no dog allowed, people are eating (all while we were outside, waiting to be directed to the right table). She once again said that there is no dog allowed get out and put the dog in the corner.

We were saying that we are outside, and we dont mind eating in the corner. Then she moved the table away from the alfresco, so basically, we dont have anything covering our head and we dont mind.

I went inside, asking this nice lady in the cashier (young lady) whether we are allowed to bring dog here and seating outside. She said nicely and said yes, and even apologising on behalf this older lady.

We were okay, we were fine, until this lady came out trying to explain that my dog is eating the food that was dropped on the floor while the other younger lady explaining to me. She did not initiate any proper explanation, but she started like we are at the wrong here.

The manager was called, and nothing can be done, we were fed up and upset, and asking for the refund we did not even touch the food, we were so upset with the situation. Nicely done, the manager asked my wife if the food has been touched, oh seriously, this is the last time i eat here, and u just lost a few more customers since i have around 1500 friends who is following me on instagram and facebook, based in Perth. Will definitely review this bad service on my facebook and instagram page for the next 1 month to make sure all my friends and followers read and not experiencing the same service like i did.

I was a customer, i know the rules for outdoor seating since we have had our dog for the last 9 years. No signs written no dogs allowed, so we positioned ourselves outside not INSIDE.

FOOD WAS NICE, i am just referring to the service. Hence, i gave 1 stars and its...

I don’t normally take the time to write reviews, but Bangkok Street Thai Bistro absolutely deserves it! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality, and the atmosphere immediately transported me to the streets of Thailand. The ambiance was cozy, inviting, and had that authentic Thai feel that made the experience even better.

Now, let’s talk about the food wow! I have never been this excited about a meal haha Every dish was bursting with flavor, perfectly balanced, and cooked to absolute perfection. The freshness of the ingredients was undeniable, and you could tell that the chefs truly put love into their cooking. From the rich, aromatic tamarind fried fish mouthwatering Thai coconut mango sticky rice and the street food style dishes, every bite, my standout dish for me was the tamarind fried fish, which was honestly one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. The portion sizes were generous, and every dish was beautifully presented. I also appreciated the attention to detail in balancing sweet, sour, salty, and spicy flavors just like authentic Thai cuisine should be.

The service was also top notch. The staff were friendly, attentive, and more than happy to recommend dishes. They made sure we were comfortable and checked in to see if we were enjoying our food without being intrusive.

This was my first time ever truly falling in love with food, and I already can’t wait to go back! If you’re looking for authentic, high quality Thai food that will leave you craving more, this is the place to be. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Thai cuisine or simply wants an unforgettable dining experience.

Thank you, Bangkok Street Thai Bistro, for such an amazing meal! I’ll definitely be coming back...

Slow Service & Overly Salty Food

Service: Slow and inept, we had to ask for water and the glasses for our BYO then follow up twice as to why food order was taking so long.

Why employ staff that have no idea about what is being served? We asked: "How is the Thai Chicken done, what is in/on it that makes it Thai?" After the blank look and the stalling, stammering response it was " oh it is chicken, ... like that one over there" . Great.

Food: Overall - Salty. Salty. Salty. Not a leaf of Thai Basil or a granule of fresh coriander or fresh birdseye chilli to be seen anywhere, let alone tasted. If it wasn't over salty it was mushy and/or bland or all three.

The Thai roast chicken - if I was blindfolded and had to guess what it was I would say: "it is yesterday's roast chook, reheated and sprinkled with extra salt" - Very average, dry, not tender, not juicy and no distinct Thai flavour ... just salty. No wonder the staff couldn't (wouldn't) describe it. Glad we only ordered half not whole...

Pineapple fried rice... Would have been OK if it had some pineapple in it, very salty.

"Crispy" pork belly - again, it "tasted like" it had been cooked days ago and reheated before being served up to us - tough, hard, tasteless apart from the salt (hmmmm, I wonder, does the microwave count as a genuine, traditional, Thai street cooking method?)

Tamarind Prawns, ok but not great, underwhelming and... Salty.

Overall, a very disappointing experience that, because we tried it a few years ago and thought it may have improved, will definitely not be given another try.

Plenty of other good Thai places in EVP, just Google them and book ahead as the good ones are very busy on...
