Flora & Fauna — Restaurant in Fremantle

Flora & Fauna is one of my favourite brunch spots. I decided to book them for a private high-tea event as an end of year celebration for my small business, and it was the best decision ever!! Despite never having taken a private high tea booking before, Alison & the team were so accommodating for me and my small group and decided to host us as their first private booking. My expectations were completely exceeded- first the table was set and presented beautifully, the team was bubbly and welcoming, ensuring we were comfortable and had enough room. They offered us free-flowing teas AND specialty drinks / barista coffee, and then the food was absolutely AMAZING! Beautifully presented, delicious, vegan and SO abundant (we could barely finish it all)! We even had a whole cake on the table just for us. Safe to say we were rolling out of there with very full bellies and even a few takeaway containers as they very kindly allowed us to take home the leftovers. What a lovely vegan cafe in the centre of Fremantle. Came here on a previous trip and happy to see it’s still just as good! Greeted by the friendly staff who immediately poured water for our table and helped us out with ordering. Plenty of delicious vegan options to choose from, with whatever you fence - from sweet to savory being available! Cold drinks are also available from the freezer. Coffee here is delicious also. Went for the Mexican Mac and cheese and avocado on toast. They were brought out quickly and were presented beautifully. Avocado on toast was superb with the pumpkin, and Mexican mac and cheese was truly special - coming with a vegan cheese sauce which was delicious and also had a spicy kick. A very underwhelming experience. I’m devastated as I used to go to the Northbridge location a lot & the food etc was always incredible. We weren’t greeted at the door for a while & then showed to our reserved tables with a grunt, a point & having to collect menus ourselves. I had the avocado toast which came out with just 3 pieces of toast with a tablespoon of avocado & basically nothing else. On the menu it says “avocado toast but not basic” & it was definitely basic. Luckily my partner got the big breakfast & shared his with me. All the staff seemed like they did not want to be there & were less than warm to all the customers (except the coffee guy).
