New Haus Managed by Hougoumont — Hotel in Fremantle

Before my review, there were three 1-star reviews and the overall rating was 1.0. However, this hotel does not deserve such a low rating, so here is my summary of New Haus.

General: Free mineral water and hot drinks at check in area Computers at check in area for browsing internet Have to cross the road from the Hougoumont (where the reception counter was) to New Haus

Rooms: Android TV in the room Below the rooms are rubbish bins There is a rooftop restaurant that can look into your room

Location: Just below the building are restaurants and shops Within walking distance of the harbour (near TwinFin Fish and Chips restaurant)

Service: Responded to emails quickly Only one service staff...

Due to an unexpected cancellation of our flight caused by a fuel shortage at Perth Airport, we were unable to stay at this hotel. This situation was beyond our control, as it affected numerous flights. Upon contacting the hotel immediately, I was advised to resolve the issue through Agoda, the platform through which we had made our reservation. Agoda requested a refund on our behalf, given the extraordinary circumstances. Unfortunately, the hotel did not offer any assistance in this matter. We had a deluxe room and it was minimal and cold in design with an all grey look and one black and white painting. Grey can look great when tastefully done, but this was not. The bathroom was spacious but strangely the vanity was so tiny. The soaps for the shower were also on the floor. Our aircon was not working well and there was a weird smell. Someone said they would come back about it but no one did. Service was so-so. However, the location is great. It’s so close to the Main Street where all the cafes and restaurants are.
