My son and I turned up late (closer to 8pm on a quiet Sunday night) and ordered two meals - a steak meal and a chicken burger. Service was excellent - nothing was a problem and the meal was served quickly. The steak was surprisingly good. I had just done a BBQ course on how to cook meat a few weeks earlier and one of the things I learnt at that was that steak is often under-seasoned. But The Stones nailed it. The seasoning was excellent, and the medium steak was - medium! Chips were perfect, and could not fault them. I didn't have high expectations when I walked in given this was a club and not a fine dining restaurant, but my experience was much better than I thought and I would certainly recommend The Stones as a place to visit and eat. Read moreWent for an 80th birthday. The service was not like it used to be. Took an hour for chicken parmigiana n a roast of the day to come. Had to ask why it was taking so long. Wen it came it was half cold. The meat on roast or the day was good. But the vegetables were not cooked. Staff need to be a bit more friendly. Most meals that were serviced during the night had no flavour or were cold. Food was missing from the order. The staff taking orders were polite.
