I found myself at Breakfast with my Hockey Friends, prior to returning home from Pan Pacs 2024….. quiet Sunday morning , until it wasn’t. I can’t thank the Staff of this great little eatery that’s recently opened in Albert Ave near the intersection of Surf Parade, Broadbeach. Approximately 25 hungry hockey players wandered down from Aria after checkout, and despite a quiet Sunday Morning anticipated, the Staff welcomed us, took all of our orders cheerfully and efficiently and in a very short time, we all enjoyed absolute fabulous breakfasts. I’ve stayed in for a couple of hours, waiting to be collected for my homeward journey, and I’ve been graciously accommodated by the owners. Please do yourself a favour, and come and try them for yourself. Lovely owners, nice atmosphere and the food….oh my goodness. I was kindly offered taste test of some of the new items being added to the menu. Kumara Fries, and Asian Beef tacos to die for. They offer live music of various genres and a mixed blend of Traditional Breakfasts and Asian Flavours. I can’t recommend them enough. They’ve literally made my 3-4 hour wait for my lift a wonderful experience. I know where I’ll be heading when I need to Breakfast, lunch or Dinner at Broadbeach in the future. PS…. brekky eggs were amazing….Owner shared that his Flock of Girls (hens) provide all the eggs used at this great little CafeBar and Restaurant, new to Broadbeach and definitely going to value add to the choices...
Read moreTonight we went to drunken monkey for dinner. The waiter we had (Coby) was so lovely and he had already been working 12 hours today at another job. We do not blame him for the events that have transpired, however we do blame the manager for deflecting complaints and acting all high and mighty. Instead of apologizing and offering a solution to our complaints he stood there saying "Well other people have complained about not receiving their entrees and mains at the same time". I had ordered the beef tataki and the beef ramen, the tataki was mediocre at best, the sauce was watery and tasteless and the ramen was a joke it was not ramen it wasnt a clean broth and it was more like a curry that had been covered in water. The other mains we ordered came out at the same time as our entrees and my dad only received his main meal and had to wait for another 10 for his entree. The place tries to be modern however the art and the wallpaper is all AI generated, which shows that the owner is open to cutting corners in food, decor and managers. The rest of the decor is dated at best and tacky at worst. In short give Coby a raise, get art made by actual artists and stop trying to cut corners!!!!!! I cannot stress this enough do not come here. The other day the same manager gave us a flyer on the street when we were on our way to a different restaurant. We took one and looked at it thinking it looked good. Biggest mistake...
Read moreDrunken Monkey Cafe Bar and Restaurant is hands down one of my favorite spots right now! From the moment you walk in, the place just feels welcoming — warm atmosphere, stylish decor, and genuinely friendly staff.
The menu is an exciting mix of Pan-Asian fusion with Aussie charm, and it absolutely works. We came in for supper and cocktails, and everything from start to finish was on point. The dishes were bold, fresh, and beautifully plated — packed with flavor but still really balanced. You can tell there’s real thought behind the menu.
The cocktails? Just as impressive. Creative, smooth, and super easy to enjoy — perfect for a relaxed night out.
The owner, a talented Filipina chef I’ve known since her cooking days back in the Philippines, has poured her heart and experience into this place. While the food isn’t Filipino, her background in the kitchen really shines through in the quality and creativity of every dish.
Highly recommend Drunken Monkey whether you’re after a delicious dinner, a laid-back drink, or just a good night out. It’s got all the right vibes — and it’s so great to see a local spot like...
