We booked this venue for four people on a Saturday night based on their 4.0 stars, and two days prior, other seafood venues were already booked out. If you enjoy seafood, the food here is ok and appears fresh. For a Saturday night, they weren't overly busy, this is my educated guess as to why: 1. Service The waitress who served us was friendly, but possibly new or a lack of knowledge of the menu and understanding for guests' requests: 1a. One of our guests orders 1 entree plus 2 entrees to come out as mains, this was repeated twice, however that guest was forced to eat all 3 entrees at the same time and finished eating before the other 3 guests. Even after complaining that they were meant to be as mains, she looked confused and didn't take them back. 1b. Another guest didn't receive her entree until a few minutes after the other guests had their entrees. 1c. Drinks also took longer than expected to arrive, and water wasn't offered to the table until we asked for it twice, the second time to top up our glasses at the end. 2. Flavours: The seafood chowder was average. Lacked the seafood flavouring and was heavier on creamy taste. Two guests had to add salt. Prawn entree, unfortunately, was eaten cold due to either waitress or Chef's timing mistakes. Flavours were also ok but lacked any intense flavouring. The octopus main, which was changed from chips, rice, and vegetables to just vegetables and salad due to dietary requirements, failed to arrive with vegetables. After asking the waitress for the vegetables, that must have been lost in translation because they never arrived. Creme Brulee was also just ok, lacked the additional crispy top, and wasn't overly sweet. I must say, the food presentation overall was fantastic, so compliments to part of the kitchen, but unfortunately, some flavours need adjusting to justify the price. All in all, this venue has great potential, but the environment of this venue was a little off, the music was nice, and the decor to match, however, the fancy service attempt with the lack of menu knowledge and hospitality etiquette brings this restaurant down. Some improvements to be done by this venue, so I would probably stay away until they reach a minimum 4.2 on Google if you plan on spending money on seafood.

This is the very first time that Im giving the lowest rate ever, though we kept our cool because its our anniversary and we still try to enjoy despite the long wait and skipping our following plans because the dinner nearly took 4 hours. We had such a terrible time wasted. We booked for 7pm to celebrate our anniversary, we thought we secured a table but to our surprise the place was packed and no table available for us so they had to make one and improvise for us and it was so crowded we wondered if they all booked or walk ins, they should prioritise bookings first before accepting walk ins, it looks like they wont say no to anyone coming in which resulted to very slow service, it almost feels like theres only one person operating the kitchen and I feel terrible for the staff with what they had to deal with, the lady who served us was so busy we had to help ourselves to move to a better table. We purchased the premium which includes starters mains and dessert, we got served an hour difference each plate it took so long that all the ice on our drinks totally melted and got warm which was very disappointing and I can tell the staff are really doing their best. In the end they say to not book with groupon because their prices are the same at the restaurant and gave us a card which has free milkshakes for kids. So everyone reading this pls do not book with groupon, call them and prepare your patience. Also, food is pretty much average for the long wait or maybe it was just during weekends but still best of luck if you book with this Galaxy seafood restaurant.

Please take time to read in entity. Marvelous position, impeccably clean, classy dinner ware and even down to quality napkins. Obliging owner Ehab and manager Tina made us totally at home in a warm U ostentatious manner. The wait staff are polite, unobsequious and dressed smartly. Now for the food. Service was timely. Not rushed or laboriously slow. We had a Caesar salad- made properly, not skimping on ingredients, but with egg, shaved parmesan, cos lettuce, anchovies, croutons, real dressing etc. Garlic bread perfect. Oysters Mornay and Kilpatrick, perfect, succulent, large, correct temperature and the best I've had on the coast. The reef and beef had a large juicy, flame charred rump steak, bbq king prawns, Balmain Bugs, Lobster Mornay, exquisite, artfully presented on butter cooked rice (the real deal, not hard, watery, or sloppy). It's in the detail where the magic of dining occurres. Creme Brulee with tart berries in jus, with waffle cone and creme- to die for! On an artfully dusted plate, so satisfying and piquant to bring a year to the eye. I could mention so much more, but hungry travellers and locals alike need to pay heed and visit Galaxy Seafood. I had read some less than kind reviews; and to the seasoned gourmandeer, Galaxy's fare would bring a smile of delight for certain. Very reasonabley priced as well.

I booked a table after getting a Groupon voucher that I paid $79.00 which was supposedly a seafood platter for two with half lobster mornay. I had 5 other people with me that were in my group that were not using Groupon. I looked at the sumptuous and beautiful seafood platter that was pictured that I bought and was disappointed in what came out. After waiting 50 minutes for the garlic bread starter and drinks and reminding the waitress 4 times that we were waiting having been ignored and having to call out with our arms in the air like children at pre school, we waited a further 45 mins for the main to arrive, min arrived 20 minutes before everyone else’s , my seafood platter was nothing like what was advertised in the picture, it had only 1 prawn each in a goblet with heaps of lettuce, 2 prawns on the platter, 2 mussels covered in tomato sauce, 2 scallops covered in mozzarella cheese, 2 calamari rings and 2 baby octopus ( the size of a ten cent piece) 2 very very small Balmain bugs, and this sparse seafood offering was on a bed of hard rice and a plentiful supply of soggy chips. I asked where was the lobster I paid extra for and was delivered a very very very small tail about 15 cm long on a bread and butter plate just sitting there by itself lonely. The pics that shows 2 beautiful lobster mornay standing up surrounded by bugs and other seafood was non existent. My group were similarly unimpressed with very small portions soggy and unappetising. I asked for a desert menu and ordered a pavlova, out came a coles mini pav shell with some frozen berry mix on top and some passionfruit pulp, and an ice cream cone half filled with spray whipped cream ??? No idea where this idea came from. I was completely apologetic to my friends disgusted that I dragged them to this beautiful place with non existent service and completely scammed food, thinking that only because I was a Groupon customer I must have been given the cheap food variety , however again this pic that I bought my seafood platter for two from showed a much different platter than I got. Notwithstanding just getting someone to take you order was a task in itself and then having them to actually get it to your table. My advice ( after owning 4 restaurants myself) bring a whistle to get attention of the waiting staff and don’t expect what you thought you were...

If you enjoy seafood, the food here is ok and appears fresh. For a Saturday night, they weren't overly busy, this is my educated guess as to why:

Service The waitress who served us was friendly, but possibly new or a lack of knowledge of the menu and understanding for guests' requests:

Went in for dinner tonight and was extremely disappointed. I ordered the Lobster set menu, lobster mornay tasted like it was just defrosted & not fresh. I ordered trio of dips which had a very basic capsicum dip and tzatziki. The third dip tasted like it was just straight balsamic vinegar. I was just bearing this because we actually got turned away from Marina Mirage & extremely hungry/ came in to celebrate some success at work but then main course; octopus got put down & this was over cooked/ rubber texture. The vegetables on the plate were covered in oyster sauce and were way too salty so my dad literally had no main course & went home hungry. My pasta was average at best but the prawns still had shell which in a pasta dish/ sauce you think they would attend to that to make it an easier eating experience. To add to the that the waitress was new which unfortunately couldn’t communicate well, we asked for water twice & only got it third time round like literally halfway in to our seating, there was also miscommunication with the meal as I wasn’t aware it was a minimums 2 people menu I thought I could just order one set & something different for the other meal. I went to go pay the bill very reluctantly and they had the audacity to try and only give a 15 percent off or something ridiculous to which I literally had to explain that one of us did not even eat a main course so that should at least be taken off the bill. They took it off the bill but the remainder came to 95 dollars which for the standard of food is an absolute joke. Happy to pay for food that is above average but the food standard has gone down & the service. I was here a few months back & that time it was a completely different experience so not sure if the chefs or owners changed or what has but it definitely wasn’t worth it this time &...
