Wow! What a find. Hubby and I went for lunch today and each plate was a taste sensation! Today we had the peppered squid in shichimi spices, which was absolutely melt in the mouth. Then we had the Mokomoko tuna hand roll, perfectly presented on a little wooden block, similar looking to a taco. We followed that up with the beef Kushi skewers, with the beef so tender, sticky and delicious and our last dish was miso eggplant. Again, cooked to perfection. We had an amazing experience at this Japanese restaurant. The sashimi was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented, melting in your mouth with every bite. The tuna tataki was perfectly seared, flavorful, and complemented with just the right amount of seasoning. The sizzling beef was tender, juicy, and full of rich, savory flavor it really hit the spot. Wow. We were going to our trusted local Japanese (Daiki in Labrador, which is chef kiss) but decided to try a new place. So glad we did! The moriawase sashimi platter was absolutely lovely. The okonomiyaki and cold noodle salad were noteworthy, as was the agedashi tofu (and that serve was massive!). But the star of the show was the miso eggplant. It melted in the mouth, was rich, sweet and umami, we could not stop eating it! My favourite miso eggplant ever!
