Broadwater Cafe — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Worst cafe I have ever been to in my entire life. Unhygienic practices. Poor food/coffee. Has so much potential yet owner has no clue what he is doing. Wouldn’t be suprised if people got food poisoning here. Eating food infront of customers with his hands, uniform looks like it has not been washed in weeks. Watched 3 people walk away from this place & one bring their coffee back as did I after waiting 20 minutes in a quiet shop for 2 coffees that tasted like water.

Owners response was “there’s another place down the road you may prefer their beans” would not recommend this place in the slightest. Sincerely a daily coffee drinker who has not once returned their coffee - today.

Also, watching the owner vaping outside the store is not a good look either.

Meet the newest Cafe along the Broadwater frontage. You'll find this Cafe at the back of the iconic Blue Shop which is at the end of Smith Street then asking to your right 50m. Anyone who has lived in the GC for a bit knows the Blue Shop. It has been under new ownership for a for years now and what a great initiative in putting a cafe at the back. The cafe overlooks the Broadwater and has a lovely casual vibe but there's nothing casual about the quality of the food or the service. Between 10 of us we had Eggs bennie, Scrambled eggs, egg and bacon roll, capaccino, chai latte(love the cups btw) etc. Serving size to price point is good too. Just another busy Saturday on the sunny GC, we happened to find a spot to park and try out this little gem. The location is the outstanding feature, right on the water, looking out to the water towards Seaworld. Plenty of action on the water to watch whilst waiting for food. The coffee machine was broken when we visited, making me feel disappointed, although hubby says the coffee here is usually good. The food: nothing spectacular, burgers and brekky on the menu.
