As previous regulars of the Pac Fair location we were incredibly disappointed in our experience today. From the minute we walked and were seated service was terrible. No one checked in to serve us after 15 minutes I had to get up from my seat and look for someone to take our order. The staff member never smiled and had absolutely no interest in serving us or doing his job. He was rude and when we ordered we asked for the complimentary bread which we shouldn’t have had to ask for. It took over 30 minutes to get to our table. When I followed it up after around 20 minutes he told me it was still in the oven being cooked and was annoyed I asked, the reason I was following up was that my Mum is diabetic and was feeling ill due to not eating so we expected at least the bread would come out quickly but everything took so long. It took at least another 15 minutes to get to our table, around 10 minutes after our starters arrived. We requested colouring pencils and paper for the kids as we didn’t even get kids menus and we had 2 kids with us. Not only was he annoyed that we asked but told me he would check because the printer was being uncooperative and he may not have any colouring in pages for us. He never updated us, I ended up walking to the front and waited ages for someone to approach me and even she was annoyed I was ‘bothering her’ I asked for the colouring pages and pencils and was told she only had 1 page and that was all she could provide.
Back at our table I had to get up again to find someone to refill our drinks as no one checked on us at all our whole meal there. A party of 8 people and not once did anyone come to our table at all.
Every time we needed something I had to get up and find someone. This was at 5pm and there were 3 staff at the bar and at least 2-3 servers around with ONLY around 5-8 tables filled across the whole restaurant. Too many staff standing around trying to look busy to avoid serving customers and annoyed when asked for assistance.
The final straw for me was when I was paying for dinner, the girl manning the desk was obnoxious and incredibly rude. I asked her if you were still using the VIP cards and she told me yes. Then she must have gone off to ask someone and when she came back she told me you no longer accept it. So I simply asked why it was still on the app then. She rolled her eyes at me, raised her voice and said ‘Well we got rid of it 10 months ago!’ That’s when I asked to speak to a manager. I saw her walk over to the manager, roll her eyes again and said ‘I was asking for a manager’. I gave her the feedback as I could clearly tell that you have very unhappy staff who don’t want to be there. You really need to evaluate this location as service was always terrible unless Livia was managing as she was able to manage the staff. I assume she has left as this was the absolute worst service and experience we have ever received at any Outback location! We are from Sydney and have been loyal customers for over 15 years. Tonight I was appalled and so disappointed I spent our hard earned money with you.
We used to be regulars at this location visiting at least 1-2 times every couple of weeks before we had our second son 2 years ago. But even after he was born we visit as often as we can every few months. Today was the first time in over 6 months we’ve visited and it was an absolute disaster! We chose to have a relaxing family dinner for my baby boy’s second Birthday and I completely regret it. Paying over $400 for our dinner tonight and I would have received better service from McDonald’s from the 14 year old staff and would have paid around $100. What an absolute disgrace this restaurant has turned into. The only thing that I can say that was positive about the experience was one of the servers Byron. He was amazing, smiled every time we spoke to him, genuinely communicated well and his people skills are superb. You need more staff like Byron and get him to train your other staff about what customer service is supposed...
Read moreTried this location again, after 18 months, while on vacation, and unfortunately, it fell short AGAIN. The first time the steak I ordered to my hotel room via Uber Eats was beyond burnt.
Today, I made the trek to eat at the actual restaurant.
After walking two flights of stairs to reach the restaurant, the hostess greeted us and sat us promptly. She was lovely and welcoming.
After being seated, I ordered the bloomin onion for the table and the red centre saute with prawns and steak. My family ordered the alfredo and the steak.
Bloomin onion was good. Could not fault it at all. This was delicious. It was hot, crunchy, and cooked perfectly.
My main dish was horrendous. I waited 45 minutes for my pasta. The appeal of this dish is that it would have an alfredo base with a kick of chilli. Sounds delicious, right? Who doesn't love spicy alfredo?
This did not taste like alfredo. It tasted of tomato paste blended with parmesian and cream. There was no kick. It was, just overwhelmingly sweet. There was only one prawn in the whole dish, which was whiter than the napkin on the table. This was paired with very chewy beef pieces. It was not good at all.
To say I was angry to be served this monstrosity would be an understatement.
The hostess took the meal away and asked if I wanted something else, which I declined. I did not want to wait another 45 minutes for my meal and have my family wait for me. Nor did I want to endure more disappointment.
My brothers steak lacked any flavour and was quite tough and dry. However, he still ate it, drenching it in gravy to rehydrate this slab of beef.
My husbands alfredo was mediocre. It had the components of alfredo, just not a particularly good alfredo. He did like the grilled chicken within the dish.
Overall, this was not a pleasurable experience. I left hungry, frustrated, and disappointed.
