When we arrived, there was a waitress walk pass 3 times (without food or going to serve another customer, just walked pass) and not bother to serve or seat us.
After being seated, the waitress left the cutlery and menus on the table in a pile where we had to set our own table up. We order our steak rare and it came out medium well. Our rice didnt come with our mains, but after it. It took long enough that a waitress noticed us looking for when it was coming and let us know it was on its way (normal rice, not fried rice). We go to teppanyaki for the grilled food and the quality of the food, however, the vegetables were more boiled and tasted like it was boiled in butter (worse teppanyaki vegetables we've ever had). The chicken was overcooked to the point it was getting very tough to chew.
When the cashier asked if our dinner was good, I told him no and he didnt even bother to ask why or rectify the situation. I had told him that he should let his chefs know that there's a difference between rare and medium, to which, the only response I received back was "oh sorry". There was no ownership, no accountability, no genuine apology, no promises to pass the message on, no saying how they would do better in the future after the feedback or willingness to rectify the problem. Giving a customer a product they didn't order, an incorrect product, and charging them for it is utterly disgusting and disgraceful.
This has been the worse teppanyaki we have been to and we have been to quite a lot on the Gold Coast itself. Food was not what we ordered, overcooked and not even up to teppanyaki standards, service was horrible where we had to set up our own tables and our feedback was not taken appropriately and the atmosphere had doof-ing clubbing music (which is fine, except it had the same drop on repeat). Would not recommend this to anyone and would not come back again.
We do not want an apology, the time for that has passed considering we had already tried to give feedback to the cashier. We do not want a refund as that's just a pisstake at this point and we sure as hell do not want a voucher cause theres no way we will be coming back here even if we were given a free meal. This is a public safety announcement to save others from going through this disgrace of a...
Read moreService was terrible, meals came out at different times, had to ask to order drinks initially, drinks came out all at different times, had to ask the waiter to come back as they only ordered 1 meal and not the other 3, we weren't offered water or serviettes when we sat down. Made a booking but we didn't get a seat in front of the chefs as we were seated after walk-ins which was really disappointing as this was for a special event. Prices seemed very high for the quality of the food ($7 for fried rice upgrade?!! $15 for a standard white wine??), and we had to get out of our seats 3 times to get different things that weren't brought by the waiters (chopsticks, serviettes, water). Waiter just placed chopsticks straight on the table and we had nothing to rest them on - this was after the (staggered) food came out and we had been waiting trying to find what we would eat with and where they held their utensils/cutlery. Side salad was drenched in garlic and vinegar and was inedible. Would not recommend and won't be...
Read moreI was a bit disappointed with the food and the setting of this restaurant. Located at one of the premier shopping destinations in QLD where some of the iconic international luxury brands you can find, I would think the standard of this Teppanyaki restaurant can’t be any worst. But I was so wrong. You get limited seat around the metal steel plate where the chef cook the food and serve straight to you. This is the iconic of Teppanyaki. They have plenty of sit down tables and if you aren’t aware, you probably think that you are at a food court centre. The food does not taste like any of those authentic Teppanyaki. The salmon on the Teppanyaki is the same cut we get from the sashimi. We upgrade our steam rice and pay extra for fried rice but the fried rice taste more like a soy sauce fried rice. Even the rice wasn’t sushi/Japanese short-grain rice. We spent an average of $70/person for a family of 4 with 2 young kids so it’s quite pricey for the standard of...
