We purchased several Coffee Club Groupon deals (5) during May 2020. The deal was 2 eggs, toast and tomato with a large takeaway coffee - for a very reasonable price. We visited the Coffee Club in Surfers twice and on the first visit we said we weren’t sure if the whole deal was takeaway only - they said ‘no worries’ of course you can dine in - we had, incidentally, super service and 2 lovely sitdown breakfasts there (and returned for coffee and cookies). We had one Groupon left and needed to use it before we left Queensland and thought why not give the Coffee Club at Pacific Fair a go. We went up to the counter at 8.40 am (around 10 minutes after opening... with only 2 tables occupied). We said we had a Groupon to use and the first staff member took my phone to show another staff member who then said “No - takeaway only” - I mentioned it wasn’t an issue at Surfers... She said ‘some owners are letting people sitdown’ - obviously she left unsaid ‘But not this one’. We had planned to buy a second full breakfast and another large coffee for my husband - but we were shut down so quickly - seemingly without breath being drawn - so we just thought ‘why bother’ - and had our Groupon breakfast to takeaway. It is, of course, entirely up to the owner of a business how much he or she gives a toss about customers. The policy of ‘No!’ could easily have been softened and paraphrased to ‘That is a takeaway deal only and we thank you for purchasing it - if you’re planning to purchase another meal however... of course you can dine in and enjoy it together’. Just a huge difference in mentality between the Surfers Paradise Coffee Club (BRILLIANT!) and Pacific Fair. The breakfast, which we ended up eating on our own balcony and to which we added some home cooked bacon, was fine. Eggs poached perfectly, dried off well so they didn’t soak the toast. Tomato grilled nicely. The environment suffered with the large takeaway container and they’ve lost customers - but hey, who really needs them anyway. (PS - some of the deal confusion obviously arose from the picture on the deal - beautifully plated up as per how it was presented at Coffee Club Surfers Paradise vs. the ‘takeaway coffee’ mentioned in...
Read moreThis is the worst customer service I have ever seen! I went to the counter just behind a family who had just ordered coffee and the lady who served them (brunette with long hair and a tattoo on her forearm) didn't smile at all. I got the impression that she was forced to work, so I asked her for a coffee, did the machine close, and she told me yes close! She didn’t say hello nothing ! , even though she had just made some coffee. I also have a café and when a customer comes to spend money in my café I make sure that he is welcomed properly with a certain respectable attitude! I find this unacceptable especially since on the website it is noted from 8:30 to 5:00 and I showed up at 3:40 !!!! I will never come back and will make sure to pass the message around! I don't think that the big boss would appreciate knowing that the customers are neglected...
Read moreOrdered an iced latte and the breakfast burger, food and coffee were both nice. However, the service was not. The older lady who served me was very blunt and rude - after taking my money she was done with me.. no “thank you”, no “won’t be long” always makes things a bit odd just walking away with no acknowledgement after using the eftpos.. The barista was also very blunt and not very helpful. The only one who was actually friendly was the younger blonde girl who bought my food over to me, they all need to take a leaf from her book. Not what you’d expect being a franchise and being located in such a busy mall! Don’t go here if you’re having a good day and want a nice experience, the...
