Saturday morning breakfast for 2 at Pearl & Ash was hit and miss. Nice menu and food was good but that was about it. The staff all seem to be so busy but nothing was getting done. We were seated and had 2 water glasses brought to the table but no table water. We ordered and received our juice & coffee very quickly but then it was around 1hr wait for 2 cooked breakfasts. The wait would have been fine if we were at least acknowledged and/or advised 'sorry for the wait or would you like another coffee as there is a delay on breakfast'. The table beside us were also irritated at the wait on their food as we could overhear. Once our food finally arrived we asked the older waitress for some table water only to be told "I'll see if we have some available because we don't have enough bottles, I'll have a look when I get the chance". This waitress then proceeded on with serving other tables and never looked for water for our table or even come back to advise anything about no water for us. After almost finishing our breakfast (which was delicious) we asked another waitress for water again and she was able to bring us a bottle straight away. Unfortunately because of this service we will not be back to give Pearl & Ash a 2nd chance. It doesn't matter how good the food is, if the service is not there then the overall experience becomes a...

I went in on Saturday morning excited to try this place for the first time. Politely we went to the front counter it said “PLEASE WAIT TO BE SEATED”. So we waited. We waited and waited. For what felt like an eternity (5 minutes) and with no acknowledgement not even the 2 barristas looked up and said anything. Finally I walk over to a server and asked for a table they said yes. Took us to the table gave us water but no cups. At this point I had bad vibes, so we just ordered take away drinks. A coffee and smoothie. Whilst I waited I spoke with the French server he was the manger, for the time, as the owner was overseas. He was somewhat apologetic but seemed annoyed that I was telling him that this service can turn people away (like myself and others I saw also just walking out) he said that they were short staff 2 waitresses. However no one told me that or anyone else, it just seemed like everyone was being rude. Also I told a friend who loves that place and she said that you dont wait you just sit down and I said isn’t that rude you’re not even acknowledging the system in place? It’s just rude on rude haha. I’m a stickler for quality service! It took 20mins for the drinks so I had a lot of time to people watch the staff and it was not my standard of quality service. So I don’t know I probably...

I'm a local and have visited this place many times. you never know what kind of service you're going to get. More often than not, it won't be great. Wait staff have an attitude and treat customers like they are a bother. Today was my last visit to this place. The staff were trying to make us sit in a busy noisy section as they were closing down their large seating area as they didn't have enough staff to service it (not sure why it's so hard to keep it open until closure?!?) What's the point of having such a large spacious cafe if you are going to cram everyone in once tiny area?

After we declined and insisted on sitting where we wanted, the waitress very rudely scoffed at us while slapping her arms on her thighs and rolling her eyes at us! We sat down and got our menus, then the assistant manager came up 2 minutes later telling us we have to move and they need to close the area. Meanwhile, there were other people still eating there.

It's unacceptable, to go to a place where you are spending high dollar, and to feel like you are not wanted there and it's a bother to serve you. Being told where you can and cannot sit because they can't be bothered walking an extra couple of meters. This place doesn't...

Hubby and I found this cafe by a happy accident recently on our trip to the coast. I enjoyed prawn tacos with a large tempura prawn (and one extra) in each. Lime wedges, a small but tasty salad with tomatoes and greens, and some diced mango added to the joy. I drank an elegant iced latte which was served like an affogato with a shot of espresso on the side. Hubby had a coldly delicious and very berry smoothie, which was colourful and full of flavour. He ate a croissant bun burger with a thin (which he said was delicious) and tasty wagyu beef pattie. And crispy chips! It came with greens and lots of tasty aioli, American cheese and onion. We both really enjoyed our food, the atmosphere and the helpful staff. We will happily go there again if we are down that way.

From the moment I arrive here, I was at the counter and greeted very warmly by the staff that please take a seat for table services. That is even when they are busy and I am getting that acknowledgement right away. Further more I had instant service. I was greeted for order and the drink and breakfast came very quickly. I order the Green Goddess 💚 and was not disappointed at all. Menu are well price base on the quality you received. The food was cook to perfection 👌. The coffee was just as good as next door Merlo. I highly recommend this place. Find a moment to try it out yourself...you won't be disappointed.

Well - Food was delicious ie we had the Corn Fritter's w/ poached eggs and trimmings and the Bacon n Egg Brioche Roll - omg / Stunning presentation BUT ... the "pièce de résistance" to me as a regular if this drink was THE ICE COFFEE @$7 !!!! Check my pic out BUT at the end the ice cube was a Coffee flavoured ice cube!! 11 out of 10... no where have I come across this( and a big scoop of ice cream) This is now a Favourite spot! 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠 Sorry no pics of food - we ticked into it too quickly YUMMY! 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇
