Absolutely stunning in all aspects. I'm Japanese and I also love raw foods/fish so i somewhat know what I am talking about when it comes to fish. The shop is run by Craig and his Japanese (? i think) wife, he is Japan lover and speak Japanese also. Always good vibe, the shop is airly and bright and very hyginic. I can look into the back kitchen and everything is organized neatly with no fish waste on floor unlike some fish mongers. This is a massive +ve sign. Craig is good old easy going bloke and service level is tops. The fish variety are pretty good, counting dozen or so "neta" (fish variety) each time I go mostly Aus produce with some from NZ. What strikes me is their freshness. Photo tells the story but try for yourself. I used to get my sashimi from other vender in Southport but recently switched as it feels so much fresher here. The value is amazing. I never use the word "cheap" to describe because that has negative connotation and it's highly subjective. But put it this way, the platter we got, we could only finish about 3/4 of it and we've saved the rest by "shou-zuke (醬油漬け)" which is to pickle them in soy sauce for next day's consumption, a Japanese household trick to save the sashimi. And this costed only 2x what I pay at restaurent for a "premium sashimi platter" where we need to ration the fish pieces. I honestly don't think even in Japanese super-market I can pick up this much sashimi for the price I paid here, so value proposition is superb. Presentation - platter is presented extremely well - each pieces of sashimi is strategically placed to harmoniously make up this elegant finishing This must be a hard work and shows they respect their fish and cares a lot. If you serve this at a weekend party, you would look like a rock star. Few tips: - they have oyster too, shucked when ordered - pre-order platter ahead of time, they are popular and busy so you have this ready when you pick up - they serve lunch Bentos, again some delicacy you can't find elsewhere in GC. best ordered by phone - parking is plentiful right in front of the shop

Japanese style sashimi shop in Southport. Very fresh product, small shop but they have what I need. Owner has good knowledge of seafood products. You can design your own plater by choices. 👍

Our new go to sashimi joint on the GC! 🍣 So happy to find this little gem. Craig was very patient and accommodating with guiding me through my first order and his wife put together the order beautifully. He was happy to explain where everything was sourced from and I even learned a few interesting things. I ended up ordering scampi, scallops, grouper, snapper, otoro, salmon, and ikura, which came out quite reasonable. Just make sure to check the size of the piece you order from cause we were a tad too full after lunch 😂 we put together our own donburi at home and thoroughly enjoyed it. The scampi and scallops in particular were amazing. Options can change but it's recommended you call ahead to order ahead in case you arrive when it's busy. Was just easier to get an idea of what/how much to order in person the first time. Will definitely be returning for more! 😋

Came over to Gold Coast from Melbourne and were so looking forward to having some sashimi. Stumbled across this gem near our accommodation and that was the best choice we’ve made in this trip! There was so many different types of sashimi to choose from and the service was wonderful! We could choose what we wanted for our platter and we were also given the choice to choose how much we wanted for every single piece. Not to mention that the homemade miso soup was one of the best that we had! We visited twice in a row and were left with six happy tummies! The prices are very reasonable for what we were getting so definitely worth it for you to pop by if you’re...
