Booked a table for over 20 people 2 weeks ago and received confirmation of booking, this was for engagement dinner. When we arrived took a good 5 minutes of standing around before they told us we were down next to the kids jumping castle, we had no kids with us a table was not set and dirty. We asked to be moved which was quickly provided, we then set about ordering over $200 in drinks and looking at menu, initially provided only 2 menus for the whole table. We were getting ready to order when a man came to the table at 2.29pm and abruptly announced we had 1 minute to order, which took us by surprise as this was the first we had heard that we had a time limit however we quickly got up to order immediately only to be advised they would not accept our order as kitchen was closed. Why accept a booking at 2pm if the kitchen closes at 2.30pm and if that is the case why not advise us upon arrival so we could have ordered food first. The manager was extremely rude, did not want to problem solve and told us he did not take the booking so not his fault, it’s not about blame, it’s about fixing the problem but it seems the chef who had abruptly given us the bogus 1 minute warning was intent on going home as we saw him leaving quite soon after his fake warning. Is it not a chefs job to be aware of the bookings per service especially ones that are made 2 weeks in advance. Not only were we treated like it was our problem, the manager also snapped at my Daughter who’s engagement it was bringing her to tears. We are locals of Parkwood and had talked highly of Parkwood club to our Brisbane guests. We were so let down and will not return. Ending up going to Crafty’s who never let us down and they got our $1,000 plus we spent on our food and drinks instead. Shame on you...
Read moreBeing generous with a 3 star as the setting was pleasant. We attended the bistro on 2nd January to celebrate a birthday with 14 people. We all placed our orders asking for the meals to come around the same time. Ten minutes later three servers came to our table offering us plates of pepper steak. Trouble is no one had ordered it. They just stood there frustratedly looking at us and getting louder about the meal order. I eventually took one of the steaks and a mushroom steak but made it clear I had ordered medium and they were giving me medium rare. After a few minutes the food manager came out and made us feel like we had done something wrong - I stood up and asked our table if anyone had ordered pepper steak - everyone shook their heads. My partner and I had no choice but to eat the steak which has been left in our table alone. Finally the manager came out and told us it wasn’t our fault but table number 55 has been mixed up with our table number 35. So eventually the rest of our meals slowly came out in dribs and drabs over the next half hour - with one of our party having to go searching for his food. Very mediocre service to stay the least. No offer of garlic bread for those kept waiting for their food - or a glass of wine for the inconvenience. Just a mumbled apology for the stuff up which was not our fault but significantly impacted on our evening. Also I had paid for the $35 steaks and only realised when the other orders came out that I’d actually been given the cheaperThursday night special steak. All very...

kids area at night is terribly dark and cold in the jumping castle area.
repeatedly asked staff to turn on lights and heaters but was told to wait whilst they work this out. Kept getting brushed off when food came out. Staff also had no idea which table food was going to despite our orders completed via the QR code table number. We kept getting orders from other tables and the ones we had ordered either doubled up or didn’t come at all and had to be reordered at the restaurant area since they closed QR code table orders by then. They do a special where kids eat free on Friday with a main meal but all of our kids meal got charged?
they sent out a manager after I asked a 5th time about gas heaters and was told that all gas heaters are broken in the outside kids area and another gas heater can’t be brought to us, as they think it’s a fire hazard if it rains, despite leaving multiple other broken gas heaters in that area.
ended up being told by another staff member that lights above the jumping castle area are broken and can’t be turned on. My daughter ended up with a lump on the side of her head after not being able to see a bigger kid going down the slide next to her. I couldn’t see what happen, it was too dark. I ask the other parent there, same problem, didn’t see what happened, too dark.
In the end, it was a better option to leave than...
