The atmosphere was great and the service friendly. I was disappointed in my dining experience however and let the staff know, yet there was no compensation for the error, simply an apology.
I ordered a frozen margarita. It was not really a great margarita (very salty in the actual drink: not with salt just added on the rim and with large chunks of ice on top) but that’s okay, I just enjoyed the company of my friends and didn’t think much about it.
I ordered the burrito bowl and asked if it was possible to omit the onion, which they happily agreed to. Then the menus got taken away.
When I received my meal I had a memory of reading about more ingredients than what I saw in my bowl. I dug around to find rice, black beans, lettuce, tomato and cucumber (and some onion even though it was to have been omitted). I asked my friends in case they had remembered what was supposed to be in the burrito bowl, but they didn’t remember either. Not wanting to make a fuss and spoil our meal together, I just started eating and discretely tried to find a menu online to check. Unfortunately I couldn’t get the QR code on the table to work, so spent time searching online. This really detracted from my social time with my friends, so I gave up. I just decided I must have imagined there was more to this dish.
As we had just about finished our meal the wait staff returned to enquire about our enjoyment.I asked at that point what was in a burrito bowl, as I had a memory of avocado being listed, but wasn’t sure. It was confirmed by the waitress that there was supposed to be avocado and she expressed surprise, asking me if I had not seen it displayed on top of the meal. I explained several times I’d not had any avocado. After I convinced the young lady of the lack of avocado, she offered me an option of providing it to me as a side, even though I’d just about finished my meal. I did feel quite disappointed as I would have enjoyed the meal more i with all the ingredients at the beginning. I ate what I could with the avocado added later but the whole feeling of enjoying a meal with my friends had been rather spoiled for me. While my friends were finishing up their meal, I eventually I got to look up the menu online and discovered there was also supposed to be yellow capsicum included too! That would also have been quite yummy! Not sure how current the online menu was though.
When we left and paid the bill, I did provide feedback when asked how our meal was. The cashier, who seemed to know my order due to the no onion request, apologised. But that was all. No compensation for the errors or my disappointment . At least I wasn’t charged for the ‘side’ of avocado, which I was concerned about being overcharged. Just paid the full price thanks!
Were it my business and if an order was discovered to be incorrectly served, I would have compensated the customer with a discount, a voucher or a value add (such as a complimentary drink or dessert) to provide a more positive customer experience and repeat business.
I won’t return, as there are surely other places that can do a bit better at creating a satisfactory...
Read moreI went there on Tuesday evening and was very disappointed. I’ve passed this restaurant as I was drawn to the lively atmosphere and the decor. I love Texas mex especially chimichangas so I decided to give it a go. Perhaps it was a bad day in the kitchen as there are so many good reviews. The entire dish had no taste at all. I am the person who rarely uses the salt shaker when dining out. Did they forget to salt everything including the guacamole, salsa and rice? Speaking of the rice, it was undercooked and hard. It was like the rice was undercooked and they tried to fry it to create a crunchy crust. I get what they were trying to do but that is usually done when the rice is fully cooked. I cut open the chimi and could barely make out how much chicken there was as there was no taste. Was it chicken mixed with cheese? No idea as it was a beige mess. The salad was a generic one that had balsamic dressing. How is that tex mex? No idea. The burrito bowl wasn’t even in a bowl. The rice for that one was better. Other than the well seasoned steak, it was bland and had no tex mex flavour. The upside is that the staff were friendly. They did ask me how my meal went but I have a fear of sending food back so I didn’t say anything. I don’t know how the cooks are going to react and what they are going to do to make the food better. The other plus side is that their cocktails are great! Kudos to the bartender. I will go back there for the drinks but definitely not for the food. There are so many other restaurants...
Read moreVery loud place when busy. We had the big square table near the entrance and it was very difficult to have a conversation with someone sitting on the opposite side. Food was terrible. At our table, someone's rice was half raw so it could not be eaten. My burger was nothing to rave on about not worth $20 Side chips, which was about 10 chips looked and tasted like straight out of a cheap freezer bag. The food at our table came at all seperate times and half the table was done eating before the other half got theirs. And some people ordered first and got their food last. Kids meals came (with one of the first group) but even though we where warned that the plate was hot, didn't anticipate that chicken nuggets and chips be like they have literally been served straight out of the deep fryer burning my kid's mouth as he tried to take a bite. Even I thought it was extremely hot when I tried it. Some of the items on the paper menu aren't listed on the scan and other website. So we tried to order with a waitress, we where told to go to the bar and order there. Had to repeatedly ask for our kids dessert as it was taking far too long (20mins) since first asked the waitress that took our plates.
Overall, It was definitely not worth it. Won't be...
