This is the worst experience I have ever received.

We were seated at our table and waited 20 minutes for our orders to be taken. There were 2 wait staff and 2 chefs in the kitchen. There was about 6 tables, so not busy. The meals came out in good time.

Our starter and 2 of our mains were lovely, however the third main meal had 2 hairs melted into the cheese. 1 hair was found and we brushed it off, however a second hair was found.

We took the meal over to the kitchen window and advised them that we had found the 2 hairs. They said that the hair was not theirs and that they would replace the meal.

Once we were ready to pay, we were expecting the replacement meal to be free of charge, however they rudely argued that we should pay for the meal as they had replaced it.

Then the male chef came out and told us that if we ever returned that we would be denied service. They were adamant that the hair was not theirs and that it was not their responsibility.

Customers should not be spoken to or degraded in that manner for these disgusting hygiene practices. They do not have to worry, as we will...

Went here for dinner recently and it was honestly pretty disappointing.

My partner and I were the ONLY patrons in the restaurant the entire time, except for 1 person that I assume collected a takeaway order. In the entire time we were at the restaurant, not a single other table had patrons, even though it was dinner time in a reasonably busy area with heavy traffic.

The restaurant was quite dark as apparently the lights were not working, which was fine as we were seated at a booth with reasonable outside light exposure.

Service was prompt and no issues there, our drinks came out in a good time frame and my mocktail was nice.

The food was a massive letdown though and unfortunately probably one of the worst meals we've had in recent times. It was edible but that is about it. It honestly seemed like it was mostly microwaved? as the food was not actually even hot, just a temperature that seemed as though it had been heated, not actually cooked. Given it was meant to be Mexican food, it was incredibly unseasoned and not spicy even though that was requested.

It was just not a...

Montezumas used to be my favourite restaurant for over 20 years however lately it has really declined in recent years. The starter was really beautiful although the corn chips were really thin and each one broke each time we dipped it in the cheese dip. The nachos with garlic prawns used to be my favourite dish, however this is the second time I’ve had this lately where the prawns were hard and rubbery suggesting that they were either pre cooked and reheated or way overcooked, both quite insulting to anyones tastes. The rice was soggy and not a decent serve for a full size plus way too oily and there was hardly any jalapeño mix, no matter how much I scraped around trying to find some. Again the corn chips were so brittle they would not hold anything without breaking. The side salad was so tiny for $8 quite disappointing. I paid over $80 for two meals we both didn’t enjoy and sorry to say I will never be back to Montezumas ever again in the future. Plus, why the hell do you not serve coffee or any hot drinks especially when it was about 10...

Read a lot of reviews before going. Some pretty bad ones on here. We went in early (6.15pm) once decided on what we wanted, I went up to the waitress; from other reviews, it took a long time for someone to take their order, I bypassed this and just let her know we were ready to order. She came right over. Food came within decent time. I got the large nachos and it had 16 corn chips, I actually ran out of corn chips and that was heaping the bean chicken mix onto each chip, maybe just a couple more chips would have been perfect. Other than that it was yummy. My husbands food was good too, looked small but filled him. Nice place.

Growing up I've always eaten at Montezuma's. This was our first time eating at this particular restaurant and we were not dissapointed. The Mexican here beats all others. I can highly recommend the San Antonio, the jalapeno sauce alongside sliced jalapenos give the dish that extra hit. It also comes with olives and sour cream. You can always order without jalapenos if you prefer! The staff here are welcoming and kind. The atmosphere is perfect for that cosy first date or family gathering. I will definitely return here soon.

Lamenting on the decision of the Mt Gravatt Montezuma’s closing down which led me here for my Mexican fix. Good points: beautiful and spacious restaurant and clean. Friendly service. Not so good points: Although the food looked aesthetically pleasing, portion size was generous, it was bland. The beans were lacking flavour. I would go again, but not for a while. All in all, really hoping that the food improves as Montezuma’s is a family favourite.
