red spice — Restaurant in Greater Brisbane

Ordered two extra-large curries, one goat curry, one mango chicken, both around AUD 25 each. The 'extra-large' curries came in two 500 ml containers, which in most other places would be medium size at best. But even worse, the 'goat curry' contained hardly any meat, but mostly bones instead (see photo). The 'chicken curry' was a container full of a runny sauce, also with very little meat. On top of all that, the flavours were bland and both curries extremely oily. While in the shop I saw the 'chef' handle and prepare food with his bare hands. I can only advise everybody to give these scammers a wide berth. They are a disgrace to India and Indian food. Edit after seeing owner's response: Of course, it is always somebody else's fault. Well... Considering I was 40 minutes late picking up my takeaway order (totally my fault) they were very thoughtful, my food was safely tucked away in the hotbox and the cold bits were grabbed while I was paying. Great service.

All that being said, the food I experienced definitely wasn't in it's absolute prime, but, it was still great. The chicken biryani was great albeit a little oily/greasy and missing the crunch I've experienced in others but... That could entirely be my fault for being late, and regardless it was still very tasty. As was my curry, naan, and mango lassi. All round very happy.

Looking forward to the Everton Park store opening as it'll be more local for me, but still worth the frantic trip out to Redcliffe when I realised EP wasn't open...

Best Indian food ever! When you enter the place you can see everything is nice and tidy, clean. Wonderful curry's on display with amazing colors. The staff is friendly and welcomes you with a smile. When ordering they let us taste some curry's to make a choice. I'm always a bit cautious with lamb because it is easy to overcook, but it was nice and tender and juicy, no fat or hard bits. Same with the chicken. Excellent food for a reasonable price. The aromas is what caught my attention when entering the place for the first time, and they did not disappoint.
