Same But Different Cafe — Restaurant in Hahndorf

I had the brekkie bagel and it was the most incredible thing I have ever eaten. I’m being dead serious the most incredible ever. Eating this bagel felt like I was in heaven, i genuinely think I had a spiritual experience. I can’t eat gluten or dairy so lots of places don’t cater to that. However, same but different was so accommodating and switched out the things I didn’t like or couldn’t eat to make sure I had the best experience possible. I loved it so much I even thanked the chef. She is doing gods work, if I could hire her as my private chef I would. The tumeric chai was also spectacular, every sip made my taste buds sing. So many of the little cakes are also gluten free and vegan, so far I’ve tried 2 of them and I can confirm they are delicious. I was so intoxicated by this bagel that 2 days later when we were near the area I had to come back, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. All I’ve been thinking about for 3 days straight is this bagel. The people working here are also so kind, lovely and friendly. I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough. At this point I’m considering moving to Hahndorf just so I can eat here everyday. Thank you so much to the people who opened this cafe, run it and make the food I would give you every last dollar and compliment I have. My only problem with this place is that I can’t be there everyday and eat...

Wow, why are there not more places like this in Adelaide !? We eat out about 4 - 5 times a week between Breakfast - Dinner and this place has become our new favourite in Hahndorf. Firstly, they advertise on their Entrance blackboard that they are happy to make something / tweak the Menu for you if its not on there, if they can. A Super plus for me personally. I had the Reuben Bagel 🥯 and my Partner had the Brekky Bagel 🥯 Both were absolutely stacked generously, fresh and delicious. Coffee was smooth and a plus, they had the most sought after Barista Milk, Milklab Almond Milk ! The Banana Smoothie was incredible- it had Banana, Honey, Peanut butter, Dates and Almond Milk. Yum ! Staff were incredibly friendly, happy and chatty. They offer blankets for outside seating, or inside if you need it, which is so very considerate. So consider grabbing or asking for them if you're feeling the cold. Great selection of mouth watering beautiful cakes, sweet pastries and biscuits. We'll be back...

We thought we were just getting a coffee. We were wrong.

Same But Different Café is not a café. It is a portal. A liminal space where time folds gently in on itself and carbonated beverages become sacred.

The coffee? Flawless. The pink lemonade? Life-altering. It shimmered. It fizzed. It gently rewired something in our brains. We are different now. Calmer. Brighter. More… effervescent.

And then — as if summoned by the quiet majesty of it all — a horse walked past. An actual horse. On a casual trot. It made eye contact. We nodded in mutual understanding. Something unspoken passed between us.

This café isn’t just Same But Different. It’s Same But Spiritually Upgraded. Would recommend. Would return. Would write epic poetry about the lemonade and whisper its name...
