Stables Inn Boutique Motel — Hotel in Hahndorf

Honestly feel bad having to write a negative review but was really dissapointed with this place.we were seated on a round table of four with our two kids.From the moment we sat down we were having to shuffle around to let people pass who wanted access to the toilets or were going back to their seats to the point that there ended up being two of us arm to arm at opposite ends of the table.(Not a huge deal but for such a small dining area were trying to pack to many people in) We then ordered drinks and had to wait about 10-15 minutes for them to arrive at our table.Not really impressed at this stage but was still looking forward to a nice meal.Well after about an HOUR of waiting my wifes meal and a bowl of chips for the kids finally arrived,pretty annoyed by now but happy that the meals were finally here we ordered another drink which we went and got ourselves.My wife was waiting for my meal to come out which surely couldn't be to far behind before she started hers but i told her to go ahead and lucky i did because it wasn't until my wife was just about finished that i was told my meal was ready......I'd had enough by now and cancelled my order....I'm not a fussy person but after the wait at least expected our meals to arrive together or at least be told of the wait prior to seating..Found it strange that a member of staff mentioned to my wife that somebody had left recently and that they were understaffed only to read reviews of this place which imply this has been happening for a while...Sounds like a rehearsed excuse to me...At the end of the day i will pay good money for good food and good service and i didn't...

Very generous sized room though I did think the lay out was odd as the small TV was tucked up next to bunk beds and other than the dining space only one arm chair so nowhere really to sit and watch telly. Having a family room the master was separate. It had a comfy bed but I think this space would be better suited to the bunk so if you have children you can pop them to bed and not have to retire when they do given the bathroom was off the main space as was the kitchen space. Having said that it was clean well appointed and couldn't be located any better. Special mention to the manager the lovely Donna who couldn't have been more helpful or done more to ensure we had what we needed, service...
