Absolutely shocking! I came at 11:30am with my daughter (toddler). There were 3 other tables, 2 of which already had their food. Was greeted when walking through the door which was nice, but when I tried to order a banana smoothie the guy on the coffee machine interrupted saying "no, we're out" and that was it. I then got an iced mocha, which came out reasonably quickly and was actually quite nice BUT we waited 40 minutes for 1 serve of corn fritters with a hash brown! I ended up having to ask for it in a take away box because my daughter needed a sleep. Trying to entertain her with the cheap plastic slide and rocker (I will say that I am glad they even had that there...). When the food finally came out it was literally 4 corn fritters and 2 poached eggs THAT WERE COLD shoved in a box. The guy didn't apologize for the wait or anything either and they literally tasted like a bunch of tinned corn cooked in egg. Not worth the money and not worth the time! I will say on the plus side that the coffee was nice so if you're just going for coffee you'll...

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Cafe 1839 in Adelaide, and I can confidently say it is a gem in the city’s vibrant café scene. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the owner, whose warmth and friendliness set the tone for an outstanding experience. The food is nothing short of spectacular, with each dish crafted with care and precision, showcasing fresh, high-quality ingredients. Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty breakfast, a light lunch, or just a coffee and pastry, every option on the menu is delightful, with perfectly balanced flavors and impeccable presentation. The ambiance is equally impressive, featuring modern yet cozy décor that creates an inviting atmosphere perfect for relaxing with friends or getting some work done. Overall, Cafe 1839 is a must-visit for anyone in Adelaide, with its combination of friendly service, delicious food, and wonderful ambiance making it a standout choice for both locals and visitors alike. I can’t wait for...

We made this our local for the 4 days we spent in Hahndorf (our motel is right next door). I loved how it wasnt modelled on the whole German theme. The lattes were super delicious! The image attached shows one of the breakfast we had - my partner said the double brekky burger on Turkish bread was the best he has ever had (he is a connoisseur of B&E sandwiches/rolls 🤭). The sauce was a combination of bbq and tomato relish & the eggs were perfectly cooked 🍳 My brekky brushetta was perfectly balanced with the red onion, fresh radishes and herbs. I added chorizo, which was beautifully fried and the tasitest I've had in a long time. The additional scrambled eggs were deliciously silky. Highly recommend the two as well as the corn fritter stack 🤤 - the portions are so generous 😍 you leave full till dinner. The owner and staff are really friendly, maintain a clean space are attentive and accommodating to customer needs. Prices are more than...

Nestled in a quaint German-themed town near Adelaide, this charming cafe is a delightful surprise. While the menu doesn’t lean into German cuisine as one might expect, the quality of the food more than makes up for it. The coffee was outstanding – rich, smooth, and served with care, easily one of the best brews I’ve had in the area. The service was equally impressive. The staff were attentive, friendly, and genuinely invested in ensuring every guest felt welcomed. Though it might not fulfill cravings for schnitzel or bratwurst, this cafe stands out as a must-visit for anyone who appreciates great food, exceptional coffee, and warm hospitality. Highly recommended!
