Read moreWe attended on a Tuesday night and the experience was nothing short of terrible.
We arrived at 6.30 and were told there was no octopus on the menu. Okay, we can live with that. So when we went to order our meals, we were also told the restaurant was out of prawns and scallops.
So seafood is off and we ended up going with chicken dishes.
About 20 minutes later, we have the waitress come out and tell us there was no chicken on the menu.
Wow, as we were becoming pretty limited and being a Greek restaurant, we asked for Lamb. Oh my God.... no lamb.
I kept my cool and asked "well what do you actually have on the menu? I know it's not your fault, the chef has badly let you down".
The response from the waiter nearly floored me.
He said, "it's not the chefs fault, it is the owner. He won't let him buy sufficient quantities"
We ended up ordering the eye fillet. The meal itself was poorly prepared, overcooked and distastefully presented with an average cover of some kind of mushroom sauce.
At the end of the night, to rub salt in the wounds the waiter came over to offer us a round of drinks. Ummmmmm, given no one was drinking, it was an ambit offer.
I don't know how a place offering a service like this can survive in this area with so much competition in the area.
Given the price of the menu (we spent $660 between 9 of us, without drinks), I would highly recommend you try somewhere else if...

I hate giving one star. I LOVE Greek food.
The place was less than half full when we arrived. My partner and I ordered the seafood banquet. We were there for over 1.5 hours and didn't get it all.
After the dips/bread entre we waited for over 25 minutes before asking when the next course would be served, indicating that we were prepared to pay for what we'd eaten and drunk and leave if it was going to take much longer. We were scolded for not knowing that the restaurant typically leaves 30 mins between courses, so we waited another 10 minutes. At that point we were no longer hungry and decided to leave, upon which we were again scolded for not being more patient because 'it was busier than usual'.
Constructive criticism: don't scold customers for not knowing how long it takes for dishes to be brought out; be transparent and give them a heads-up - we usually understand. Also, if things are busier than usual, again - be transparent and honest and say that there might be more of a wait than usual. Lastly, there's always the option of placating people with free alcohol - if you'd given us a shot of Greek liqueur or a glass of wine we'd have...
