Society Salamanca — Restaurant in Hobart

Very happy I got to this bar! Just around the corner from the Salamanca strip, it’s out of the ‘busy’ and potentially messy night scene. When walking in, it was a very spacious bar and beautiful decor that felt quite luxurious and industrial at the same time…

The drinks were quick, the menu had some fun looking drinks and it was laid out well, and the service was awesome - I got greeted straight away. The shelves were amazing, so many spirits available!! Both cocktails I had were perfect for what I was feeling, and how they ‘should’ taste. That’s always nice (haha).

It was a chill evening so got to chat to the bartenders about some other places in Hobart to visit and they had great spots that suited me. I also got to meet another lovely human sitting at the bar, so Society attracts nice people (bonus!).

I just love Society, the cocktails - magnificent! My favourites are the Still Rose - subtle, ever so slightly sweet and so drinkable. And the Southeast Gimlet. Perfect. Although, if you’ve no idea, just chat to the staff, they know all there is to know about cocktails, spirits, flavours and origins even!

This place has a welcoming atmosphere, warm cosy interior, huge drink selection, amazing staff who are so knowledgeable about all the drinks there. I’ve been multiple times and each time has been a fabulous experience. There’s no pomp about the place, I’ve been welcomed in jeans and in dresses with pearls - I love that about a place.

Drag night bingo is always a hoot! Love it. The food is simple easy, and thank goodness, not fried which is a huge plus for me. I love a nice selection of food with drinks.

Cannot fault this place!...

Brand new coffee place in/near Salamanca with a bit of class. Aleks and Fi are very chilled and easy-going, and there is a decent variety of food items as well, from tasty pastries and sweet treats, to toasted sandwiches, to gourmet pies and fresh salads. I'm told there are also alcoholic options, given they're a bar in the evenings. The entrance is easy to miss and looking in it's a little dark, but certainly very comfortable once inside. Will be nice and cool in summer!! Plenty of space and seating, including comfy couches in the corner. Pram friendly. They do decaf and lactose free as well....
