Eat Sushi — Restaurant in Ipswich City

Absolutely disgusted the way myself and my cousin were treated yesterday.

It was busy lunch time which is understandable but I don’t know about anyone else but I don’t like to be squashed into everyone at the bench when I’m trying to eat my food, to the point you can feel someone breathing on you.

There was no one else waiting for a table so we stood up as we saw a free booth avilable. As we were walking towards it a high oitched squeal came from a staff member waving us down and carrying on like a pork chop saying we couldn’t sit there. When I asked why not? She stated there for big groups only and we just weren’t able to sit there.

So we sat back down where we were and started eating amoungst the rest of the cows at the trough. And low and behold 4 groups of people with 2 people each group were aloud to sit down at a booth...

So so so disgusted that we were embarrassed infront of a whole restaurant of people when what she was saying was in fact untrue as other people were doing what we were trying to do!!

I often go there but I won’t be anymore because of the way this staff member carried on and made a massive big deal...

They say one bad moment can ruin an entire experience. That is what happened tonight. Usually, the food here is phenomenal and I enjoy every bite however tonight I ordered the takoyaki (octopus balls) and katsu don both being a secret favourite dish from my time in Japan.

The don was phenomenal props to the chef.

The takoyaki on the other hand I could stomach even try. It stunk! It smelt like the octopus had been sitting in the heat or they had used a microwave to defrost it from frozen. It is hell, my stomach is still turning.

To their credit, they did replace it however once again the new one they brought out was just as bad, my friend and partner who had accompanied me started using the supplied tissues as a makeshift breathing device. That is how bad it was.

For such an amazing establishment to serve up what I can only assume is a rotten octopus is heartbreaking. The remaining food that I've tried is the ONLY reason that they're getting two stars.

If you're after takoyaki go to anywhere else in springfield unless you'd like to take a gamble that you won't puke in the next twenty...
