We moved to the area not so long ago. We tried Grilld at Springfield and were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness, staff & quality of food. However we were charged too much for an item and if I didn't look at my receipt, I would have never known. I looked at this as a simple mistake.
Today after sometime my wife and myself returned for lunch, first thing I noticed was how dirty & tired the place looked, my jumper was sticking to the table. We observed the staff member wiping down table after table never rinsing the cloth and leaving smears of sauce across tables.
My wife and I had the Simon Says' and Pork & Pine burger and we also ordered 2 Scooners of Stone & Wood Pacific Ale. When I went to order the young guy behind the counter pointed to a bun that had flour on it and said would I like my burgers with this Low carb bun, I said yes please. I now know he was actually pointing to a Gluten free bun and not a low carb bun. The young man took my credit card. However I had to ask for a receipt.
Well our burgers arrived. It was than I realised we didn't get the flour covered buns the young man pointed to, they were thin pan cake like peices of bread. I than looked at the receipt and realised I had been charged an extra $1.50 each for these so called buns. It was than I noticed the price and name of the beer on the receipt. I got charged $12 each rather than $8 for 2 Scooners of Stone & Wood Cloud Catcher beer when I received what I asked for, " Pacific Ale" meaning I had been ripped off $8 total. I showed another staff member the receipt and he appologised and returned my $8. However I had to ask him again to have my receipt back, " he gave me the wrong receipt", so I had to ask again. It was than I wondered how often they do this and how many people don't question it because the Grilld staff don't give them their receipts.
I bit into my burger and noticed that the Pinapple was not charred like the menu said, it was like it was straight from a can, really wet and cold.
All in all, Grilld Springfield was dirty, run down, service was poor and I feel we were ripped off for the poor quality we paid for.
I am happy to talk to the manager in person if he/she wishes. I am also happy to show the manager my receipt.
I have now sent an email to Grilld HQ. What's the bet it gets swept under the carpet and or my review gets deleted. Let's hope they prove me wrong, I'll...
Read moreFirst time at Grill'd today for dinner with a mate. We were quickly seated by a friendly young man who gave us an adequate rundown of the ordering process.
We kept things simple, ordering a burger each (panini x 2, sweet chilli chicken and plant-based patty vegetarian), along with a side of their 'best ever' chips.
Both burgers were pretty good, and I quite enjoyed mine. My mate did comment that his burger was plenty of salad but light on the meat. He still gave it a thumbs-up though. The chips, as per the Grill'd boast, were excellent; well seasoned, crunchy outside, fluffy and creamy inside.
The premises are pretty cool, with a diner (booths included) vibe. Service was okay but limited. The interaction with staff, once seated, was restricted to removal of plates and a thank you from us. No enquiry as to our experience, and no farewell as we left the store.
On an aside, and to support an older review regarding housekeeping/cleanliness, a sauce container was dropped in the middle of the floor near the entrance/service counter, leaving a sizeable dollop of sauce. After 10 minutes of multiple staff members walking past and around it, my mate left the table and cleaned it up himself, primarily as this was an accident waiting to happen. Even then, no acknowledgement from a single staff member.
Overall, other than the very young staff needing some development and experience, this is a solid business with good quality meals. I had a positive experience and would not...
Read moreHad a not very pleasant experience yesterday. Went to pick my order. I asked one of the staff about my online order and she said that it’s almost ready just give me a minute. At the same I saw another staff from behind the counter looking at me with suspicious looks which made me uncomfortable and then calls the staff I was talking to and ask her to ask me to get delivery bag in order to get the food. The girl came to me to confirm that it’s my order or I am here to pick as a delivery driver on which I said yes it’s my online order. Also they were preparing my bags with writing on it as khushjot online. How can they miss it. Firstly I felt bit awkward but I just ignore only then I saw two delivery guys both dark skin as mine and then not only I felt bad but I was rather fuming that people have such an audacity to judge what’s the person’s job as per skin colour. I have also done Uber eats for straight 1.5 years. There is nothing wrong in it but treating or assuming is bad. I was celebrating with my family for my achievement it’s a small incident but pretty much ruined my celebration for me. Before leaving the restaurant I did let the staff member i met first know that it was rude of the another staff. And this should not have happened this way. If she had the doubt should have checked order from her system that it’s an online order or online application order. I have worked at a restaurant and system tells you that option and it’s not a big deal rather then asking...
