As the folks behind Bremer River Digital Marketing, we often find ourselves in need of a place to unwind and recharge. Rafter and Rose has become that sanctuary for us. As tea enthusiasts, we're thrilled by the diverse and delicious tea selection this local Ipswich gem offers. Most recently, we ordered a Vanilla and Passionfruit Cake that was both dairy and gluten-free, and it was an absolute hit. Fresh, moist, and bursting with flavour, it satisfied everyone's sweet tooth without compromising on dietary restrictions. The atmosphere at Rafter and Rose is inviting, the service is impeccable, and the quality of their cakes and teas is consistently high. We love that they always have something new and delightful to try—just like we always aim to offer fresh and effective digital marketing solutions at Bremer River Digital Marketing. Whether you're meeting a friend, looking for a peaceful solo outing, or even searching for a casual spot for a business meeting, Rafter and Rose checks all the boxes. Highly recommend, and we'll definitely be back for more!

Was really excited to try this adorable cafe but unfortunately the delivery didn’t match expectations. It was a bit slow to order which is fine as it was busy. When the food finally arrived it was a bit lackluster. The poached eggs were way overdone and the sweet potato hash cake had no real flavour or form. They just seem liked spiralised sweet potatoes and fell apart and had no crust or crisp. Our food arrived before our coffees which was odd and when asking our server about them, she said she’d look into it. After waiting a few more minutes, I went to find her and she unfortunately had forgotten entirely. Then she disappeared around the counter leaving me just hanging around and then was finally told by someone else they were on the way. We were basically done eating by the time the coffees arrived. I get accidents and mixups happen, but just the slow service, forgotten coffee, no acknowledgment of any of it and then average food, I just wasn’t all that impressed. Bummer.

Rafter & Rose is our families absolute favourite cafe in Ipswich. Mainly because of the atmosphere, it has such a unique vibe to it, it’s the perfect place to relax and have a coffee and a treat. The menu has a great range of options, the coffee is also excellent. We went the other day and had a cheesecake - and it was exceptional, not too strong or sweet, just mellow and delicious. Re: the desserts and cabinet options - the baked goods are always delicious and they have good variety. The Cuban sandwich was absolutley delicious! The potato rosti was just grated sweet potato which was not what I expected - but the breakfast was delicious regardless. The only small issue we have is sometimes it’s hard to find parking and we have to walk a fair bit to get to the cafe. If you need to be there at a specific time - leave 15 minutes to find parking and walk.

I had the eggs Benedict ordered without spinach and a long black coffee. The food came to table with heaps of spinach but I did not have time to wait for another serve so just removed it myself. I can never understand the flavour balance by putting raw spinach with eggs Benedict, where did this idea emerge from?? Anyway, the flavour had by this time infused and wilted its water into the bread. The eggs were hard and had water sacks which diluted the very small serve of hollandaise sauce of which I must say had a good flavour but in addition the bread became a soggy mess. The bacon had a good flavour and I didn’t mind too much the crunch, but on a eggs Benny maybe not so much crunch required. Coffee was good but could have been a little warmer, maybe because it was served into a cold cup?So much potential here but a lack of attention to detail and price paid gives it three stars from me. I will give it another go, hopefully reviews like this help improve around the edges. Good produce, good atmosphere, good flavours, lots of potential, just add the attention to detail and listen to what the customer is asking...

I'll start with the atmosphere. Think vintage library cafe in a garden. Such a unique environment. Not at all like all these modern cafes trying to out modern each other. 5 star atmosphere.

The ladies that work there are very kind and friendly. So in my opinion 5 stars for customer service.

I've eaten a lot of their food. The burgers are a divine combination of flavours. The muffins are always so dense and moist. Their cheesecakes have made my day. I don't like caramilk. But their caramilk cheesecake made me rethink that stance. I say 5 stars on the food.

Now the coffee. Those who follow my reviews know I'm quite the coffee snob. I get an iced coffee with vanilla from Rafter and Rose every time I'm in Ipswich. They calibrate their grinder multiple times a day. And their coffee pour times are consistent. The mild frothing is calm and barely heard. So I give 5 stars for the coffee.

My only complaint about Rafter and Rose is the clear lack of diversity in the employment. But I'm sure it's just a coincidence that the employees are all young white girls. But I can learn to live with only being served young...
