A very disappointing experience at the MAFS screening last night. Website advertised to arrive at 6:30 for a 7pm start time. At 6:56 we tried to enter to the cinema and were turned away as they were still cleaning, which was the first sign the night wasn’t going to plan.

20 minutes go by and we still haven’t been allowed to enter the theatre, but we aren’t sure why - by now other customers are watching the live stream in the foyer on their phone at full volume which was frustrating for those who wanted to watch it from the start. We only knew there were technical difficulties happening because another customer asked a staff member and then told us - no staff kept customers informed at all during this time.

A staff member then appeared to hand out more complimentary drinks, but only to about 1/4 group, and then left the room?

We finally get into the cinema at 7:45 for the screening to NOT start at the beginning of the show??? Why couldn’t this have been started from the beginning of the episode? The stream crashed again, and then instead of going back to where we were up to, it skips forward.

Eventually a manager comes in and apologises to the room and offers free screening to tonight’s episode, which was a kind gesture. However, no refunds were offered which is disappointing considering nobody got the actual experience they paid for.

Technical issues do happen, and that can be understood, however the service was not up to scratch given the circumstances. I would hope that should you guys show a televised event in the future that you have precautions ready to go so none of this happens again. It would also seem reasonable if you emailed all ticket holders and...

This rating is for the lounge only and even then I feel two stars is a push. When we arrived there was a line at the bar with only one very SLOW staff member. The line didn’t move for the 15min we were waiting. The lounge area was pretty grubby too with waste laying about on the floor and the tops of tables not wiped down. I wasn’t impressed for a lounge area. I had been to the normal cinema for the first time yesterday and that was really clean. We were then told we could go into cinema 7 as the theatre was ready. We found our seats quickly with footstools on the seat. I realised then the seats don’t recline unlike cineplex. My husband then left during the ads to get us something to eat. My mini combo came out quite fast which I was grateful for. His cheeseburger and chips came out about 15min later. The fries were absolutely Disgusting! The burger was passable. Don’t get food there. It’s not worth the money you pay. The screen was also annoying. It wasn’t wiped down and had marks on it so when a light/bright scene came on the marks stood out like dogs balls! After the movie I went to use the ladies toilets and wanted to puke. Toilet paper and empty rolls everywhere. It was feral. I would sooner pay to use the normal cinema or if I want lounge experience I would travel to cineplex. This lounge is a massive disappointment and not worth the money! This is the only cinema currently in Ipswich. The viewings are limited particularly cult or limited release, here you'll only view mostly mainstream flicks. It's an excellent facility with great member deals and great theatres like the lounge with food options. My issue is the poor service from disinterested teenage employees. At times you'll get great service from a young person who actually looks you in the eye but it's rare. On my last visit the front ticket counter was so filthy with drink and popcorn remnants that I actually said "that's disgusting" but the guy that served me just shrugged instead of wiping the area. Couldn't even stand at the counter as there was no where clean to place the food I wanted to purchase, I stood to the side as it was so filthy. The toilets are also disgusting as no one goes in to check between movies. Toilet paper everywhere and soiled seats. A real let down.
