Earnest Arthur - Kiama — Restaurant in Kiama

Booked a table at a Sunday lunchtime as I expected there will be a lot of people by the time I arrive. Lo and behold there were a lot of people when my partner and I arrived in Kiama. Although we were early we were seated quickly by friendly staff. There's not much table service as you order at the counter. I ordered a bacon and egg roll with a side portion of garlic mushrooms. My partner ordered the usual big breakfast. We both had the tropical juice. I would say the food came out in a moderately lengthy time, most likely due to the large number of people. The bacon and egg roll was delicious with a generous portion of bacon as well as egg with a small handful of rocket on the side with a bit of dressing. The side portion of garlic mushrooms were generous as well and came in a separate bowl again alongside some rocket and a bit of sauce. I would say the big breakfast was average with no real wow factor. I liked the tropical juice which was very refreshing and had a frozen strawberry blend slush/cubes in that it'll melt as you drink - very different and clever compared to most juices I had at cafes if you ask me! Seems a bit disingenuous bragging about being a family owned business when the food tastes as though it was made in some mass produced factory. We ordered a three cheese broccoli cauliflower pie, chicken wrap and a cheese and bacon sausage roll. The wrap was $11.50, expensive but standard these days however there were no prices displayed with the pies and I only realised as I paid that the pie and sausage roll came to $16?!?! The price could be justifiable if the food was decent. Unfortunately the “three cheese” pie tasted as though someone chucked together a plain roux and boiled woolies frozen cauliflower. Judging by the lack of any colour in the pie seems as though there was no seasoning in the roux nor any cheese even some salt and pepper would’ve added something. The chicken wrap was straight lettuce. No exaggeration the chicken was only on half the wrap, the rest was lettuce. The wrap was supposed to be toasted and while the outside was heated the actual chicken was cold. Extremely disappointing and this is coming from someone who has never written a negative review and has also worked in the food industry. Would not recommend will just stick to a normal...

Service: 4 out of 5 - Nice, Friendly staff, but there was alot of staff working but it too ages for us to get greeted at the door and then noone noticed as we said thankyou and waved on the way out because all the staff was near the counter talking to each other. But the food came out super super fast which was great!

Hygiene: 3 out of 5 - Tables were good and wiped clean, but our water glasses we got were dirty and the bottle of tap water that came with them had rust on the bottle of the inside.

Coffee: 5 out of 5 - We ordered 2x Ice coffees and they were great! Good size, nice coffee, lots of icecream and the chocolate power on top was great.

Food: 4 out of 5 - Burgers were good! We ordered 1x Beef Burger w/chips - Meat patty could have been a little better seasoned but did taste like homemade and fresh, which is good.

1x Brisket Burger w/chips - Meat was nicely seasoned and cooked well, a little to much sauce but it was tasty. I put a little bit of the hamburger beetroot on my brisket Burger and it was very nice so I would recommend getting beetroot on it.
