Upon recommendation from my accommodation I wandered down to this lovely restaurant to celebrate a milestone by myself. #tableforone Right from the start the staff were friendly and when asked for recommendations, which I went with, I was pleasantly surprised (and rather full!). I started with the recommendation of Sweet Chilli Prawn Pasta and although I only got the smaller portion I still had to pack away some to take away. Hats off to whoever thought to put prawns, chilli and avocado into a creamy pasta dish. I could have done with more chilli but it was delicious as is. To accompany this I asked my server for a recommendation and was rewarded with the delightful Lady-chello. Peach Schnapps with everything lemon it seems… lemonade, Limoncello, lemon and garnished with a dehydrated lemon. As I was a bit stuffed after eating the pasta I was peering wistfully at the dessert menu. My server noticed and asked what I would like, I couldn't pull my eyes away from the words 'Zia's Tiramisu'. He strongly recommended it and so he was sent off to find out if they had any left and if I could get it as a takeaway. I was in luck and so after a short walk back to my motel I partook of the tiramisu and am so glad I got it! If you're looking for a great restaurant with a lovely vibe, friendly staff, and great food I'd recommend giving Zia's a go.

I was in Kiama for the first time for the famous coastal walk. Googled for a place to sit down and have a quick bite in the afternoon and landed at this place which was about to close in another 10 min. I was seated and a lovely girl took my order; I remember cause she had this infectious smile. The kitchen service was quick and to my surprise the small pizza that I had ordered was as big as a large one from a pizza hut. The restaurant kept servicing their seated guests even after closing hours which I really liked. Something you don't get to experience in sydney CBD :). Reason to not give them 5 stars is the menu, which for me lacks offerings for someone who prefers chicken dishes (this is just a personal preference and not reflective of the restaurant's capabilities). May be next time I'll ask for mixing things a little. The decor of the place is nice and my pizza tasted really good. This place is a gem, Highly recommended. I will definately be back there very soon.

Zia’s used to be our family go-to spot when it was on Manning Street, and we always looked forward to dining there whenever we visited Kiama. This was our first time at the new location, but sadly it was a major letdown. It seems like the place has completely lost its cosy Italian family vibe and the authentic homemade food we loved. The garlic bread tasted like cheap frozen stuff, and the pizza bases were brittle, flavorless, and clearly came frozen in a box. The toppings were disappointing too, pre-shredded deli ham and pre-cooked chicken straight out of a packet. The service didn’t help matters either. It felt perfunctory at best. The kitchen and wait staff were a group of teenagers more interested in hanging out behind the bar than taking care of customers. The young lady at the door didn’t even bother walking us to our table, just pointed to an empty one. She took our order and brought the food, but there was no friendliness or engagement, not even a smile or a check-in on our meal. No shade to them, they’re just kids doing the bare minimum for a paycheck, but need guidance and supervision. Honestly, we left wishing we’d just got pizza at Domino’s for half the price. At least they make their own pizza dough! Sadly, this will be our last visit to Zia’s.

Visiting Kiama for a holiday and decided for our last night that we would order in some Italian. It was a 90 minute wait when we called, which was fine considering the dinner rush and we were happy to wait. We ordered a prosciutto, rocket and Parmesan pizza, a spaghetti bolognaise and a spaghetti marinara. When the food arrived, the pizza was cold and looked completely uncooked. The pasta tasted and looked like tinned spaghetti. The marinara had what tasted like reheated-frozen seafood. Bland and mushy. Disappointed to say the least for a $100 meal. We called the restaurant about the pizza and they advised that all the toppings are added to the pizza base after the base is cooked. I gave the service 3/5 as they were willing to send another pizza to us. We requested a cooked pizza with the topping cooked (noting we were happy for an alternate pizza-type if the one we ordered didn’t have cooked topping). We received a second, worse pizza. The rocket was in a container (deconstructed-style), it looked as if it had no Parmesan on it whatsoever and the prosciutto was so stingy. Embarrassingly bad food.

If you're in Kiama and craving a taste of Italy, look no further than Zias Restaurant on Collins St. My friend and I recently visited and were thoroughly impressed from start to finish. Our culinary adventure began with the Veal Scaloppini, which was a symphony of tender veal accompanied by a vibrant medley of roasted vegetables that looked as good as they tasted. Our meal was expertly guided by Anthony and Aiden, two young waiters who made us feel like VIPs with their impeccable knowledge of the menu, recommending dishes as if they had crafted them themselves. The grand finale was a scoop (or two) of their divine gelato. Whether you're after a quick turnaround meal that doesn't compromise on quality or just want to bask in the glow of outstanding service, Zias is your go-to spot. Trust me, you won't leave disappointed.
