I stayed in room 6 of the commercial, initially thinking that at $115 a night it was reasonably priced. The minute I entered the room I knew it was poor, but it got worse, and it shouldn't have. In order: The gentleman who checked me in was quite pleasant, but didn't tell me there was a communal area for tea and coffee, so the fact there was a small fridge with 20 uht milks baffled me. There was no water in the fridge and no cups, no kettle. So I thought, what's the point of that? There's no a/c and the room was flaming hot. Let's check the tv, it looks new. No coax cable, ok so that might be a downer. Couldn't program any free to air channels. The guy who checked me in was up in smoke so the only help from that point on was a lady who seemed to be managing the bar etc. She tried to help but didn't know anything much about the tvs, I don't blame her because I don't think it was her job. Anyway, I was informed I could connect it to the wifi. So I did and logged into my netflix account and went to have a shower (communal showers and toilets btw). By the time I got back, the trailers had burnt up my whole wifi data allowance haha! I was literally laughing at this point. If I had have paid $60 bucks I'd be thinking, whatever, but at $110 per night (which I think is discounted from wotif) I literally felt scammed. All you get is a hot room and a bed. The only saving grace at the end was there was a young fella who seems to be a general cleaning guy who heard me out and promised to speak to his boss. He seemed genuine in his attempt to do something for me but by that point, I'm already never coming back. What's sad to me is, having had a beer at the bar and viewing the restaurant it looked like a great establishment with lots of custom and looked like the cared about their customers. So why don't you give 2 hoots about the people staying a couple nights? How about put in a window unit ac, how about check the tv works, how about have some after hours interest when someone has a concern? How about show people there is a communal tea and coffee spot on check-in? You got literally everything wrong and if I could take that money spent...
Read moreMy recent experience at this restaurant left me extremely disappointed. The menu advertised gluten-free options, which initially excited me. Upon inquiring, one cashier assured me they had a dedicated gluten-free fryer. However, when we placed our order and spoke to another cashier, we were informed that the gluten-free fryer was being used for non-gluten-free food that evening. This meant I couldn't enjoy the Salt & Pepper Squid and chips, which were marked as gluten-free on the menu.
When we questioned why the advertised gluten-free option couldn't be provided, the chef responded defensively, stating that there's always a risk of contamination when dining out. I expressed my concern about food safety, but felt unwelcome and as if my concerns were dismissed.
I doubt that they take proper precautions, such as draining contaminated oil, before using the fryer for gluten-free items again. This lack of care for cross-contamination is unacceptable, especially for someone like me who could face serious health consequences from consuming gluten.
Unfortunately, this experience has made it clear that they do not have adequate procedures in place despite listing gluten-free options on their menu. It's not just about attracting customers; it's about ensuring their safety. We won't...
Read morewent here for dinner for the first time in early October for my birthday dinner. purchased 2x rib fillet steaks with the chips and salad and wow... deadset the worst pub meal i've ever had. the steaks first of all weren't eye fillet at all. They were tiny pieces of what appeared to be rump steak which was not only overcooked and not med rare but was so full of grissle that you could barely even chew it. there was next to no salad or chips either and the salad was rendered inedible as it was absolutely drowned in generic sweet italian/greek salad dressing. I was in utter shock the moment the plates landed on the table and was instantly pissed off. The waiter seemed to avoid asking about how our meal was at all costs and quickly collected our plates without so much as a word as she could clearly tell we weren't happy with the meal's. We were so shocked we didnt say a word I had to go to KFC after eating 1.5 of the meals myself and buy another meal just so I was full. Honestly, it completely ruined my birthday and was just a terrible dining experience with terrible customer service. Feel extremely ripped off for spending $80 on these "meals" plus extra for drinks....
