I would give this place a 0 star if I could - do yourself a favour and go to any other Indian but this one. DON'T GO
This was a really really poor dining experience both with food and customer service combined. Please see below a summary of everything that went wrong during our dinner.
1- When the waitress took our order, she couldn't care less and as a result took down the wrong thing completely. She also gave us the wrong menu with options that were not available to order. When ordering our food and one of these options, she failed to mention this. 2- Ordered poppadum's for 4 people and got 2 to share.. hardly enough. 3- Order took 50 minutes to arrive. When it did we could have sworn the pork was beef. When mentioning this, the waitress dismissed it immediately suggesting that all the beef had run out therefore it couldn't have been.. 3- Vegetarian order was wrong and they came out with the wrong dish. When they eventually came back they said what we had ordered was from an old menu and then walked off again for 15 minutes. The waitress then came back with a dish they had made instead which was completely different to what we ordered and they did not ask us beforehand what we would like instead. It has mushrooms in it which I don't like and tasted like fish sauce which as a vegetarian I can't eat. By this point, as this was the second meal they had wrong, we just took it but instantly regretted it as it did not taste nice. 4- All meals were pretty flavourless aside from over powering salt 5- We ordered and were charged for Roti even though we got some sort of flat bread 6- customer service was literally non existent 7- When paying for the food, I mentioned that we should have been asked what we wanted as a replacement dish instead of giving us something they had made instead. - Our dish was $18 dollars and they gave us a dish we didn't want for $22.00. The waitress was extremely rude and said "so I asked you and you said you would have it" We only took it as we had been waiting so long for our meal and the other part of our table were halfway through their meals. 8- When I mentioned it was really disappointing and we wouldn't be returning the waitress said "Oh well" 9- Portions were tiny and over priced.
Literally not one of us had a good experience in this place. I don't tend to write reviews but this place really isn't good and I am baffled about the positive reviews and how they could have such a different experience to...
Read moreSeriously delicious! Lovely service. So full and a great price for what you get. Creamy spicy curries and the intro dish was yum! I had to come on here and write a good review after seeing the one stars.
My partner and I were reading the reviews and very pleased we ignored the low ratings and comments. We hadn't been for a while to Red Pepper, so we thought we would try it again and saw the bad reviews while googling the address. Completely far from the truth.
The restaurant was pretty full but we were seated right away and ordered soon after. The waitress was friendly and informative about what other people were eating and warning us about the spice strength of a curry we hadn't had before. During our hot curry, which we were warned about, I asked for a raita and it was brought straight away and a very good serving.
I dont get what people were talking about in regards to the plate settings? All the plates were high quality and the decor warm and friendly. Cutlery clean. Nice lighting.
Our curries were good sizes, as was the rice. Large rice for two people is enough. Two curries and a starter is well enough for two adults. They were not like packet curries at all and lovely and creamy. The naan was not greasy but delicious. Ive had a lot of curries in my time and I know what a horrible watery curry is, and it isnt what you get at Red Pepper.
The price for our meal plus drinks came to around $68 and we were happy with that as were were very full.
Music was playing in the restaurant and we would definitely return. It was fun trying to get through my very hot curry, I think my tastebuds have...
Read moreThanks Red pepper for spoiling my dinner today . I went with my husband for dinner tonight 17.02.2018 . I ordered malai kofta and garlic naan and jaljeera. My husband is on medical diet so he wasn’t able to eat that dinner so I had some home made diet stuff brought for him to eat . Once I got my food I started eating and my husband started eating his food . One of the red pepper staff comes and said we don’t allow outside food in our restaurant. I told the lady thrice that my husband is on diet he can’t eat his food but still the lady staff went on and on and started arguing in front of other customers and all started looking at us like we did some crime here. We wanted to order veg salad for my husband but because of everybody’s expression towards us we felt so emabarassed that I packed my food and I even paid the full bill. Still the lady staff staring at us as if we stole something from there hotel . While leaving the hotel I said to the staff to behave and mind her limits and not to poke someone while eating . I told her that I even requested that my husband won’t be able to eat your hotel food and I even paid the whole bill but still the staff was not guilty . My husband told her to learn some customer service if she was working in Australia . We came to hotel to enjoy our evening but she spoiled and ruined our evening . Red pepper please teach Australian standard and customer service etiquette to your staff. I want apology...
