Lennox Gelato & Coffee Co — Restaurant in Lennox Head

So.... about 5 years ago I lived in Lennox, this was the best ice cream I had ever tasted. I am a true hockey pockey fan and for the price you pay, there was always a generous amount of hockey, which seriously is the whole (only) point. I was heading down the highway and made a special detour just the other day to visit LG&C to find the price had jumped $7 per litre, and I thought mmm-ok, and definately wouldn't mind paying because I knew the great quality of product, plus LG&C has gone away from plastic containers 👍. However I was extremely let down to only find 3 pieces of hockey, and small pieces too, not the large chunks I remember so well in my 1Ltr takeaway 🙁. For an upgrade in price and far less hockey.......so gutted. The ice-cream still smooth and lovely, but I didnt want vanilla with the scent of hockey pockey. Please fix, I'm driving back past again in a month and would really like to enjoy hockey pockey as I know you can make...

My companion enjoyed the ice cream here, but I'm going to tell you about the cake! I needed a gluten free treat, and the cake cabinet had a few items that fit the bill. The lady serving me asked cheerfully if I was"super duper picky", and I told her yes, I was. So she put on a fresh food handling glove, and served up this cool mango cake. I enjoyed that level of care so much, I ordered tea as well, which was served properly in a pot. Yum!

Great place to sit outside, in sight of the beach, although you do have to cross the road to get to the waves. Mind you, it's windy here, so you don't want to try eating right on the beach.

Oh yes, important news, there are lizards on the rocks across the road...

We have tried a few of their gelatos now….hubby’s favorites were the lemonchello and the banana and rum. It’s a good gelato…not too sweet and is creamy. Having had real gelato in Italy it’s not quite the same as that …..but still good on a hot day. It is a little on the expensive side $6 for a scoop but they are decent sized scoops. Staff were friendly and the service was quick. You do have to occasionally have to wait as people seem to take quite a while to make up their minds which flavor to try. Good location, there is a park right across the street where you can sit and enjoy your gelato while listening to the waves...
