A friend and I had looked forward to patronizing the Diner for some time, regarding it as a potential experience in fine dining. The booking process was easy, with the follow up communication via text to confirm and remind us of our booking being very efficient. We were greeted warmly on arrival but alas that was largely the end of any positive interaction with the staff. Perhaps it was our request for an outside table in preference to the noisy indoors or maybe it was my companion's small hand movement (for which she was quickly reprimanded that there was no need to wave) to attract attention when direct eye contact was lacking, that put the owner offside from the outset. The progression of the menu was duly explained by another waiter but we opted for just two mains to share with a side of zucchini. The house made pumpkin gnocchi was ordinary and we dared to ask for seasoning to lift it from the realm of the mundane. Despite other diners having their water glasses refilled, we had to ask for water which was somewhat grudgingly delivered as the waiter cleared our plates. As for another glass of wine that was out of the question or should I say that question was simply not asked. Would I go back? Definitely not, having been made to feel like a second class citizen, when surely the essence of a business in hospitality is about being...

It was an absolute pleasure to hand over our whole menu decision to Tim (owner & food veteran) who, after years in the industry is still wildly passionate about food and hospitality.
I wanted to skip the homemade focaccia (with whipped ricotta) purely so I could fit in more of the other dishes ;) - - GOSH I'm glad I didn't !! ... Because If that's ALL I'd eaten that night I'd have been happy
(My partner and I were actually struck silent - with wide eyes - as soon as we tried it)
it's really some extraordinary stuff - what Tim and his Italian Michelan trained chef are up to in Lennox 👍😊
So fresh, interesting and tasty - and wonderfully priced with many dishes all designed to share - such a fun way to eat.
From start to finish our entire meal and wines (chosen by Tim) were excellent and we are so very glad that we are locals and thst we get to be regulars.
Thanks so much for such a wonderful experience - we'll most...

The food definitely wasn't fresh like they said and picked from markets and the portion sizes were smaller then kids meals you would get at other places. For 4 people it cost $386 and we got takeaway pizza after because the portions were just that small. Also why would you bring out food in order of the menu and have silly small items like just hot chips at the end? So we had our tiny lamb which we all got one small bite of at the very start then a plain bowl of chips comes out 35 minutes later when all the main food has come out with nothing else to have with it. Waiter was just complaining the whole time about the music from the restaurant next door which was so annoying and making us quite frankly wish we were actually there. No one was in the restaurant which isn't hard to see now and service was still slow and stuffed up some of our orders. Will never be back and feel...
