“Your body is a temple, but it’s also a theme park ride… and @mrtipsys aims to shake things up! Leave expectations at the door because we’re here to bend the rules…” I love walking into a place and the staff treat you like an old frequent customer, even if it’s your first time.
And bend the rules they do! 🍸 Mr. Tipsy’s is where Asian fusion meets divine cocktails, all served with a dash of the unexpected. It’s the perfect spot to share plates and good vibes with great mates in the heart of Lennox Head.
We stopped by and indulged in: 🌮 Indo Spiced Fish Tacos – tempura battered fish, fresh shell, sambal, and zesty slaw. 🥩 Vietnamese Shaking Beef – tender beef cubes, wok-tossed perfection with vibrant salad and citrusy soy dressing. 🍔 Fried Chicken Bao Buns – their legendary Taiwanese fried chicken paired with sesame slaw. 🐚 Half Shell Scallops – curry leaves, tenkasu, and flash-fried brilliance. 🍠 Karaage Croquettes – Japanese-inspired potato croquettes with okonomiyaki sauce and shallots – pure comfort food!
Not only was the food absolutely next-level, but the staff were so friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. You can feel the heart and soul they’ve put into this place. 💛
The menu is designed to be shared, and trust us, you’ll want to try it all. Pair your bites with one of their signature cocktails (hello, Geisha’s Garden or the Grilled Pineapple & Chilli Margarita) or a cold local beer. 🍹✨
Pro tip: Book ahead and bring your appetite! Mr. Tipsy’s is already a crowd favorite for both locals and visitors. The four stars were based on some of the wait staff being a bit hard to communicate with. Other than that the place is def worth checking out when you...
Read moreI stayed in Lennox Heads on a business trip to take sessions in Lismore and Balina. Once I checked in to my most lovely BnB I strolled down the main boulevard to witness a buzz around a restaurant that proved irresistible.
The open table booking system failed to give me a table, yet this most wonderful and kind waitress came to the rescue. I was seated within seconds. Not only are the staff beautiful on the inside ( and the outside), the menu matches them completely.
For me, it was, I love to try this but then I miss out on that. Anyway, I was served a lager on tap and made my choices. Once served, I sent pictures to my wife in Brisbane who decided to drive over the next day and join me. It’s only a 2 hour drive these days!
If you’re visiting or just driving through on the M1, do yourself a favour and stop by this great restaurant! Delicious and...
Read moreGood but trying too hard to be a bit of everything Asian. As a consequence some of the dishes lacked depth or key flavours. Duck spring rolls for instance could have been any protein. Bland and totally unseasoned. Dipping sauce too sweet and no heat. Char kway teow similarly lacking the depth of flavour that comes from shrimp paste, fish sauce and chilli in this classic Malaysian dish - no dark soy so the noodles were bland, pale with none of the “char” that comes from a really hot steel wok. Fried chicken bao buns were excellent. Kingfish ceviche was fresh and presented nicely but again lacked the sharpness of fresh lime and the heat of chillies. Overall ok but like many such themed cafes there is the tendency to “westernise” dishes and in doing so losing the authenticity. With some attention to detail in the kitchen it...
